Romelu Lukaku

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Romelu Lukaku

Postby Chad » Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:53 am

Sport/Foot mag in Belgium claims #Lukaku has agreement to join #MCFC in July. Lawyers in Manc today, been working on deal for 15 days

From Euro Football Write Ben Lyttleton on Twitter

Would be a cracking signing if true, as it would be securing one of the stars of the future. Must be taken with a pinch of salt though, surely some papers over here would have got hold of it if they've been here for 15 days.

google translate of a belgian newspaper

Romelu Lukaku Manchester City in July

While Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid held the rope, it's Manchester City in negotiations with the player for 15 days, which seems to dribble.

This evening will host the ceremony Golden Boot with two favorites: the Anderlechtois Mbark Boussoufa and Romelu Lukaku. For the young striker, it would be a first consecration before a transfer is imminent. Some have suggested a departure before the end of the winter transfer window. Yet another scenario is about to conclude, in all discretion.

Reliably, Lukaku is already reached agreement with Manchester City for a transfer in July, the club mancunien dribbling Favorites media, Liverpool and Chelsea. As for Real Madrid, he had already lost the battle, Lukaku had spoken this week for the English league. Counsel to the player have a meeting in Manchester on Wednesday to tie up the contract after working on the case for 15 days.

I haven't seen much of him but he's been talked about as the next big thing, so it can only benefit us if we sign him; at worst, we will resell him if he's not that good.

I had found an article about this some time ago and posted it in the transfer rumours thread, but then I heard nothing else on the matter...it seems we have been at work though.

33 goals and 10 assists in 76 games for Anderlecht, plus 10 International caps and he's only 17! I've never seen him play but he certainly sounds worth a punt.

You realise as a club we could be singlehandedly responsible for Belgium winning the Euros in the not too distant future?

Supposedly a lot of clubs have been chomping at the bit for him. Never seen him play but there must be something to the kid if so many clubs are after him, and not like the Blackburns of this world, but Real, Milan, Arsenal, etc.

He already has one in every two strike rate at 17 in Anderlecht first team. Has over 50 games for ful side already as well. Haven't seen him in action but can't help but to be impressed with that.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
