best city kit

Postby Arjan Van Schotte » Sat Jan 22, 2011 9:52 pm

we aint done this for a while and its just a bit of fun - top three city kits ever (and give your reasons:

1) - coz i actually loved the lazer blue - made us proper different and was cool as fuck. still got it and still wear it. 2) coz it's classic and not messed about wi by sponsors/manufacturers. 3) coz i'd go with that soon just coz we'd be the only team with B/W home kit and thems of you that don't understand the origins of the cross should google it

Actually saw someone wearing this at the Inter friendly this summer...hysterical. It looks even worse in person.

Love the second one lahad posted, got that one.

not sureabout the material on the current kits. the design of the third kit ouweighs any trepidation on that though - one of the best kits we've had.

My personal favourite is the away kit when we had the lazer blue kappa home kit with the brother logo, Kinky era. Maroon and dark blue stripage. That is one amazing kit, let down only by some attention seeking socks, which basically detracted from the whole effect. Best footy shirt i've ever had though, and I've had a few. Fnar etc

the current third kit is just fuclin sensational. i have 2 -- a LS one, and a SS one with that wantaway cunt TEVEZ printed on the back. <3
i love last seasons home kit because it's classic/retro with no nostalgia but a forward-thinking fabric and style
the Le Coq third strip that LAHAD posted is fantastic as well. for some reason is reminds me of Bianchi...didn't he score in it at W HAM?

i also rate last years away kit with the subtle yellow shoulders. It's nice.

i have so little history to draw upon, but...looking at old shirts those that i like seem to be among the finest anyway, so...

cheers

Nothing beats last year's home kit - so number one for me out of the three - EXCEPT the remembrance kit they wore before kickoff the other day. (bit of a pattern forming there, I think I like retro kits)

The three from this season are my favorites ever.
Would love to see the full red and black stripes for the away kit again.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

Either with the black shorts and socks or the white and white black and red socks this kit is streets ahead as our best ever kit. The 1970's version of this was (as a hand-me-down) my first ever City kit and I had craved for us to re-make a version of this ever since. Le Coq tried and got it pretty horribly wrong so I was over the moon when this came out. So glad we kept it this season.

2. Image
Never managed to get this shirt but this kits was magnificent. Le Coq's best ever effort bar Argentina as LAHAD rightly points out

3. I was then going to go for this Image

BUT number 3 is this one which is one of the old kits that I most wish that I'd kept when I was a kid

Image

All away kits which is odd but if I had to choose a home kit it would be either last seasons or any one of a number of the Saab, Philips and Brother kits from the 1980's. Had them all and all of them have good memories and feature in quite a heavy number of my childhood snapshots!
