Coincidence

Coincidence

Postby shortagain » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:40 am

We are all pointing the finger at Joe for his error which cost us a goal and we may be right, but lets not overlook the miss by Carlos from the corner minutes before. The only othertime we have lost 1 - 0 this season was at Sunderland, where Carlos missed another sitter and Bent scored the winner in injury time. Not looking to blame Carlos who has done so much for us this season, but on another day, he scores both those and we are probably 6 points better off. Sometimes, you just need a little bit of good fortune

Don't wanna sound condescending, but is it really much of a coincidence that when our top scorer doesn't get a goal it happens to be in losing games?

Was going to open a topic about this; it's a real bad omen imho when your best goalscorer misses a sitter like that, and bang on, we lost 1-0 just like at Sunderland.

I think he was referring more to the fact that in both those games we first missed a sitter with Tevez and then conceded the goal; some games are going to be decided by who scores first, after all.

Bent was bought on 18th, cost 18m (some say) and scored on 18th minute. How about that?

That corner which Tevez missed was fantastic btw.

Well some say that he cost 19m and only arrived at Villa on the 19th (cos he had to go back to Wearside and pick up his washing ) and that it was in the 19th minute that he scored! Also heard there were 19 fans celebrating their 19th birthday in the stadium... just clarifyin' like

Doesn't the day you are actually born count as a birthday? I think it does, which would make the birthday when you turn 18 your 19th. It's a bit like the nineteen-hundreds being the 20th century.

When you are born you are not 1 so it cant be your birthday. When you are born its your arrival thats why baby clothes start at new born and ascend in months as you are not 1 till you hit 12 months capiche.

The day you are born is obviously your first birthday, I would even go so far as to say that it is the birthday. The day you turn one year old is your second birthday. I.E, the day you turn 18 is your 19th birthday. I thought you passed your maths class, mate ;-)

Buy 12 month old baby clothes for a new born baby and i bet a pound to a pinch of shit they will be too big.In fact the next size up from 12 months is 18months to 2 years. So no when you are born you are a day old not 1 year old capiche. In reallity you are correct in as much as its your birthday the day you are born but thats just it its just a day not a year.

If the day you were born was your birthday, you would only have one of them. (Unless you were a Bhuddist of course, in which case you would have many, on the path to true enlightenment).

Interestingly, Patrick Vieira was 6 on his first birthday.
