With AJ's injury what do you reckon about a last minute punt on Elia?I remember he gave us the runaround in the UEFA a few seasons back he is speedy and has an eye for goal.I think we could do worse.

Haven't watched him for a while but was very impressed with him back in the Hughes days, when we were linked with him.

Plays in Germany these days i'm sure our German posters could fill us in on how he is fairing Ted.

Buy a player from Hamburg? Are you mental, we'd never dream of that.

I've seen him play but not really taken any notice if you know what I mean, probably because I was studying Dzeko or (whisper it) Lahm, or any other rumoured targets.

Isn't Alan a winger?

I'd love to play with fast pacy wingers hugging the touchline but the way our team is set-up nowadays I doubt we could accomodate one into our system.

With our set-up we need another "lock-picker" in the middle of the park to play 1-2s and throughballs

I really think giving swp a prolonged games in the first team will help him.
He's always been one of them players that needs to be playing constantly for him to show his qualities.
He's under contract anyway so it's up to him now.

I'd grab sanchez from udinese. Having seen him in the WC and Serie A, this guy is the business. Pacy winger with playmaking skills. He destroyed Juve today.

Agree 100%. He would be a fantastic signing.

May help him but I dont think it'll do us any good.

We're getting short of bodies here, how about a quick 9am £50M swoop for Torres?

He's really good in Serie A; there's always a question of whether he'd make it in the Prem though, but I guess he could well be worth a punt.

Plus, IIRC, he said he's a Scum fan or would only ever move there.

Sanchez would need an entire season of looking like crap before he made any sort of impact(eg:Tranaldo) and while I would love him here, he is definitely a summer purchase IMO.

This, out of all (non German) players he impressed me the most.

Elia played 13 games for Hamburg this season, not a regular starter, one of those " Look what I could do with the ball" players. First himself than perhaps the team...... Don´t like him.....

Accorded to german press he himselt is looking for higher achievments, he would like to play for such clubs as Real, Barca or even the Rags.....

a season? he'd have lasted 40 mins max before puffing out his cheeks, grabbing his knees and having 3 weeks off.
