Its well and truely on now and obviously we're still in with a shout.

But who's gonna get it... can someone like MRM who isn't in a fit of blind rage right now do the run for each team and let us have a reasonable debate about how we feel its all gonna go??

Cheers in advance!

Who should be included? The magnificent spurs and the boring City or others too?

Ah, sarcasm - the perfect approach to post match disappointment.

Ok mate, here you go:

City
Spurs
Liverpool

I believe the other top teams will finish above us.

If all of the remaining fixtures end up with the same results from '09/'10, we will finish 4th at 68 points, two above Spurs with 66. This despite the fact that we assume Spurs beat us at CoMS, as happened last season. Mind you this includes some eyebrow-raising results, such as us drawing with WBA this weekend, us winning away to Chelsea, and Spurs losing at home to Wolves.

One thing that has not been talked about enough is Arsenal's season. They are way ahead of the pace they set last year and if all remaining fixtures go the way they did a season ago, they will win the league with 83 points, one ahead of the Scum.

Liverpool have got absolutely zero chance. It's between us and Spurs again.

I wouldn't rule them out just yet. A great run in 2nd half of the season can do wonders. Especially in a season like this where everyone is dropping points here and there.

But probably it will be between us and spurs.

Obviously they've a lot to do to overcome the odds, but that's what they are famous for.

The thing is, I think we'll beat West Brom on sat... as you would expect, but I also think we'll try not lose at Old Trafford as opposed to trying to win... and I don't think that at any stage for the rest of the season we should do that.

We're favourites for fourth with William Hill as it stands, but we were at a similar time last season and we fucked it up by being scared.

We NEED this fourth spot so bad.

If we don't finish in the top 4, with the squad we have, then you can kiss Mancini goodbye and rightly so too.

No excuses from players or manager will excuse it. Top 4 is the minimum requirement, top 4 and a Cup win should also be attained. Finishing 5th just isn't acceptable, end of. Am sick and tired of waiting for "next year" and I'd wager those is genuine power at City are too.

I dont think the race for fourth will be an issue.

We will finish 3rd.

a few weeks ago, I felt we'd definitely be top 2, maybe better. Now, i'm looking nervously at spurs. That isn't off the back of one result, but several, including all the cup games.

Something is wrong, particularly at the back and we need to sort it very quickly, or 5th will become a tough ask

I wish i had your optimism, i'm a pessimistic old fart and i can see our top four place slipping away slowly but surely.

I tend to agree with you here. Although I'm not sure third will be our final position, if you get my meaning.

This is my concern. When the heat is on Bobby always seems to shit out.
We'll soon be back at the super defensive team with a raft of strikers NOT on the pitch.

This. The direction we are going I can see us finish outside the Top 4 again and then the shit will hit the fan.

The worrying this is that we haven't played well since the arse end of December, we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives at the moment, set-piece defending is a joke and we appear to have absolutely no pace in the team at all.

A good solid home win, with a clean sheet, this saturday will make things seem a lot brighter though.

Watch us lose against West Brom now. :)

At Christmas it was the race for 1st, now we're talking the race for 4th?

It could happen. Our record against WBA over the years is a bit mixed - meant to say December above as the last time I thought we produced a comprehensive performance was Villa at home. Since then, we've not put together a genuinely solid 90 minutes of play.

I don't even want to think about what happens if we miss out on 4th again. Anyone reckon the owners might have had enough then? Not just with Mancini but with City?
