so - what would be your best team/formation - given a micah that can play like that, lescott looked happy alongside vinny, milner looking good every game, a rapidly tireing yaya etc etc

i think i might go something like this:

------------------Hart-------------------
richards--kompany(c)--lescott--zabaleta

johnson----de jong---milner----silva

-----dzeko/balotelli---tevez-----

I think that's a workmanlike team that also has flair.

We badly miss Johnson, that's for sure, too workman like our team at times.

true, but when johnson was starting regularly i thought he was better as an impact sub. i might possibly have a short memory :)
