Just behind Zidane in the greatest players I've had the privilege to watch in my lifetime.

my favourite ever player. fantastic, such a shame his knees were a mess. would of been the greatest ever imo had it not been for injury.

Fantastic player. Not the best of all time by any stretch of the imagination, but one of the best strikers.

I'd put Maradonna, Pele, Messi and Zidane ahead of him.

He was a monster when in his prime at Inter, it was sad to see what he was reduced to in his last season at AC Milan; I was listening to a Mourinho interview on Italian Sky Sports the other night and it was a bit disrespectful as he referred to Ronaldo (this one) as "fat Ronaldo" just to differentiate him from Tranaldo.

If I had a choice I would of had cantona in his day over ronaldo.

Also seen as he has retired does that mean fake ronaldo is now the real ronaldo?

Nah, for now he's just the only Ronaldo. If another pipes up, then that will be the third Ronaldo, but the first and original one will always be the Brazilian one, there's no doubt.

Just a fantastic player, real shame he couldn't maintain fitness/remain uninjured towards the end.

He was born to score goals, absolute legend in my lifetime and in the top three to have played while I've been drawing breath.

Brilliant player and love teh title of thread title - definitely the real Ronaldo. Fantastic goal record too. Wish that, whatever the reason was, he had not played in the 98 WC final.

It's unbelievable to think that, with the record he's got, he's still regarded somewhat as someone who could've done a lot better. Just shows the measure of his immense talent imo.
