Dzeko and Jo

Tevez/Dezeko pair so far has been poor. Honestly, I doubt if Tevez can play along with anyone. We need Dzeko to get used to EPL. And Jo seems to do well in the training. So why don't we try to play them together this Sunday? Rest Tevez and let Dzeko run the show with Jo supporting him.

hahaha. It will work out Tevez with Dzeko but it needs a little more time. Maybe the question is more about how do we set up with Mario in the team?

Drop our most consistent match winning player?
I think if we are winning well by a couple of goals then that's the time to get these things working

Don't be so fucking preposterous.

To even suggest that Dzeko is fit to share the pitch with the legend that is Jo is completely laughable.

I don't think the OP is too far off the mark. Tevez is a fabulous player and has been our saviour since coming here. But he's at his very best alone upfront, in a very free role. Dzeko is not the first player to "clash" wit him. Adebayor never managed to form a good partnership with Tevez, constantly dropping deep or wide to actually get some space, since Tevez was crowding his natural space.

I would also argue that Ireland was suffering the same faith. It's very hard to play "in the hole" behind Tevez, since he frequently drops deep to collect the ball, which makes the offensive midfielder/second striker redundant.

Don't get me wrong, but the problem (or blessing) with Tevez is that he moves too much and covers too much space, that he's pushing his striker partner out to the periphery. And of course Tevez's tunnel vision doesn't help either. He very rarely looks for the pass.

As stated before, this (i.e his goals) has saved us countless of times, but sometimes, I think Tevez plays hampers our attacking game.

I don't particularly want to see a Jo/Dzeko combination, but I would be very interested in how Dzeko and Mario would link up up front.

Anyone else a little tired of how people expect strikers to start banging in goals as soon as they join clubs?

The timeframe players are supposed to be stepping up to the mark is becoming more and more ridiculous. I know this has been the case but it's getting shorter every year, Torres & Dzeko being the latest subjects.

I've no doubt this want-it-now attitude from both fans and press is detrimental to players' and the club's long term success.

I totally agree with you, but I still think my point about the difficulty of playing with Tevez stands.

Dzeko does not, in any way, shape or form, want the same space that Tevez occupies. Give them a few more games together and all will be well at t'mill.

So Dzeko going wide supplying crosses to Tevez and Silva is a good thing?
I agree about having patience. It doesn't only apply to new players, but to new partnerships.
But I still think that Tevez, half divine as he is, is difficult to play with.

Jo is much too precious to be starting games.. he should be saved for really important roles like running down the clock by coming on in injury time.. and other vital tasks.

I never saw Dzeko play properly before he came to City. So far I have not seen what all the fuss is about. I'm confident he'll get better but he's been downright rusty so far.

He hadn't played for a month when he came to us, winter break and all that.

I haven't played in about 15 years, but I think I could still manage to kick a ball

He's obviously got something, but it's fair to say we haven't seen it yet. Maybe the next few games will get him up and running

If Tevez goes into the space occupied by his strike partner, why the fuck doesn't the strike partner just switch?

A long long time ago, 2 strikers was quite popular and even though I was a young boy I'm sure I remember the pitch being big enough for them both to play.

Dzeko looks absolutely fine to me. Looks like he may score every time he gets the ball around the penalty area imo. Why we don't feed him more often is baffling but no doubt Ade & RSC will have warned him about that.

Idid worry about the numpty faction getting on his back if he didn't score too many in his 1st season but I just can't see him not scoring after watching him. It just seems inevitable he'll score shitloads of goals to me although I'm sure he'll always miss a fair few too, he's that sort of player.
