POLL - Dzeko or Balotelli

Postby Original Dub » Sun Feb 20, 2011 6:19 pm

Not neccessarily who you prefer, but if you only had to pick one, which one do you think will be worth twice what we paid in two years?

They very well both could be... or neither!

I'm hoping this will be one of these threads that can be pulled up in a year or so, where you can look back on your early opinions of these lads and see what predictions you made for them.

Balotelli hopefully wont be here in two years if he keeps getting on the way he did today. More likely he will be worth half.

Its way too early to judge Dzeko in the premiership. I really hope he doubles his value (or what we had to pay for him).

they are both fucking class....different but class

Dzeko....clever, subtle balls, good in the air and powerful. Looks like a good lad to have alongside you in the dressing room

Mario....insanely talented, can do the seemingly impossible, strong, fast, great guile and vision.....mad as a box of frogs, nutjob, liability....

I am happy as a pig in shit that we have both

To be honest, it doesn't matter if some chairman or fans value them as twice as much as they were paid for. You are only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for you.

The imporant thing to ask is will they have been worth the money spent on them and my prediction is yes.

I think Ballotelli, but we'll make a loss on him in the meantime.

We paid a fair price for Dzeko, and I doubt his value will massively increase, and there will be very few (if any) clubs either willing to, or in the position to pay an over-inflated price for him in the future, what with UEFA regulations and our increasing prominence on the European front.

I reckon we'll let Ballotelli go for just over half of what we paid. A few years down the line in a floundering Italian league, and he'll be off to Spain for €35m plus.

Way too early to judge Dzeko, but ok to judge Mario eho's played a handful more games?

Personally, I'd say it's too early to judge either. Both have shown some positives, but there are some concerns about both

Talented yes.Insanely I think goes too far.Can do the seemingly impossible , I am still waiting unless you mean look like getting sent off in a routine nothing match scenario. Strong yes but doesn't he fall over a little easily, fast ok, great guile still waiting and vision yes.

Don't get me wrong I want him to stay and I think he is a big talent but just not that special and he is as likely to lose a game for us as win one at the moment.

I'm not at all angry - that's just my posting style you cunt.

And no, its not at all what you did. What you did was try to give us one of your "lessons", throw in a couple of silly cliches... and finish off by telling the rest of the class that you think they will turn out to be worth the money we spent on them.

None of which was mentioned in this POLL.

Smiley face :)

Dzeko wanted to come to City and, albeit slowly, he seems to be getting better. Balotelli clearly doesn't want to be here and is getting worse. No contest.

Balotelli is 10 times more talented. Although Balotelli's a cunt. Dzzeko isn't.

Dzeko's more professional approach makes him slightly more likely to succeed. Balotelli is probably more talented, but his attitude is questionable and the press are dying for him to fail. Five live today when announcing today's results said City won 5-0 but Balotelli had a strop when taken off, no mention of goalscorers, just having a little dig.

I'm still waiting for Dzeko to have a really good game in which he dominates the centre back. Still looks rusty and far too early to say "he will be a huge success" Jury still very much out.
