haha - no mate. i did wonder meself and i don't personally think that if tevez goes in the summer it's the end of the world.

i'm skeptical about new "wonder strikers" as my reaction to such as samaras will show but i really like the look of dzeko and i think they showed the seeds of something nice today.

Yea they will work out. Dzeko will probably rack up more assists then goals but today I felt they started developing a chemistry.

The pass edin put through for Carlos was class and vice versa for Carlos' ball to edin's head.

Because Balotelli will keep one of them out of the team. Or both.

Sure, we'll play a 4-5-1 with Mario up front on his own. Johnson and Silva on the wings. de Jong, Yaya and Barry in the centre.

sorry, not sure if you're being sarcastic - you'd play balotelli before dzeko OR tevez?

That pass from dzeko was spectacular for tevez's goal. The commentators brushed it off like it was nothing and didn't really have anything to say. If it had been scholesy or giggsy making that pass it would be headlines. Of course, every goal we scored was greeted by near silence and almost despair, as if we had stabbed a knife in their backs. They really do want to see us fail don't they?

Dzeko looks brilliant in the air. We need to fully exploit this.

[quot e="dazby"]Dzeko looks brilliant in the air. We need to fully exploit this.[/quote]he does but he is slow getting into the box so is not an ideal Target man for sweep or AJ just yet

Dzeko interview for bosnian sport portal:

Translate from translate.google.com

Dzeko has asked City fans to be patient while it tries to adapt to the English style of play.

"We showed in the second half that we can play together. Also, in the first half, I worked well together on the ground with Mario and I can say that we are well understood. They could all see. Communication between players is very important, and most importantly is that the players on the field is well understood, "said Džeko.

"Carlos is a long time is here and when I get used to England, two of us will play much better. I know I can play much better than before and I will work hard to show people. The strikers are expected to be scored, and I I scored two goals in eight games. When you look at the statistics, you think that is not the best, but I'll try to continue to contribute to the game the whole team, not just try to score a goal, "he added Džeko.

"Trying will continue to assist his teammates. I am not the type of player who stands in the penalty area and waits for a chance," said Džeko.

Džeko also admitted he still has not got used to playing with a lot of physical contact, such as the government in England.

"It is much harder than in Germany for that matter, but I'll get used to that. Such is the style of play something totally new for me. Judges do not play all here in England, while in the Bundesliga, each of less contact foul. Coach me said that it's different here than in Italy or Germany, where the judges all play. I hope to be as soon as possible to get used to and physically stronger. I play a lot harder. There are times when I played in Germany is not physical strength had so much influence, but in England it's different. In England you have to fight for every ball. However, I am mentally OK. If we happen to not score a goal on a few games and then lose the ball, not mental, but I keep falling head elevated "concluded Džeko.

Dzeko interview from the MUEN.

Edin Dzeko believes he and fellow Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez could become the scourge of English football – but they need time to gel.

The two City strikers helped each other to goals as the Blues saw off Notts County 5-0 and set up a fifth round clash with Aston Villa at Eastlands a week on Wednesday.

Dzeko asked City fans to be patient as he tries to adapt to the pace and physicality of the English game but he feels the way he linked with Tevez in the second half – and Mario Balotelli in the first – was a glimpse of things to come.

“We showed in the second half how we can play together,” Dzeko told M.E.N. Sport. “Also in the first half I played well together with Mario and we understood each other.

“Everyone could see it. Communication is important and when you have an understanding with someone on the pitch it is the most important thing.

“Carlos has been here a long time and I am the one getting used to everything so when I settle we will all play much better.

“I know I can play much better and I will work hard and show people.”

Dzeko says he understands that the jury is still out on him since his £27m move from Wolfsburg last month.

“Strikers are expected to score and I have two goals in eight games,” he said.

“When you see this, you can think it’s not good but I try to work also for the team, not just to try to score.

“I try to assist team-mates. I am not a player who stays on the edge of the box and waits for a chance.”

Dzeko also admitted that he is finding it hard to get used to the more lenient refereeing and the amount of physical contact allowed in the English game.

“It’s harder here but I will get used to it. It is something new for me,” he said.

“The referees don’t whistle for everything here – in the Bundesliga every small contact is a foul.

“The coach says to me it is different in Italy and Germany as the referees whistle everything. I hope I can get used to it, and have to get stronger. I have to play stronger.

“In some situations in Germany where I am not so strong it is no problem but in England it is different. You have to fight for every ball.

“I am OK mentally. When I don’t score for two or three games and then lose the ball I always keep my head up.”

Interesting how some people were wrighting off Dzeko, some were writing off his potential link up with Tevez & now, because it worked for 30 mins v a 2nd division team who were two goals down & knackered, everything's rosy but Balotelli is being written off instead. Keep it up & a few may get a job on 'Talksport'.

I watched the highlights on ITV last night, and I don't know who the commentator was with Jim Beglin, but when we scored the first it was disgraceful how gutted the prick sounded!

I follow the German league for years, and I gazed at dzeko when he first arrived in Wolfsburg, had five goals in a peak season and then 17 in another. and then the following season he went mad and graffiti, who knows they hold the record in the German duo attackers who have the most goals in a season dzeko 27 Graph 28, the German league is a little slower, and judges do not tolerate so many tackles, and I think he will be stronger and tevez pair of man unt now just give a couple of times .....
