Lets get it together......Seriously....Positive Thread Alert

Just gazing at the table for the umpteenth time when it struck me.

We have 11 games left in the league, we are 2 points and 12 goals ahead of spurs. (current 4th)

The league is allegedly sound as a guide after 10 games, so 27 games is fair....we are 3rd.

I cant imagine anyone left in Europa League wants to draw us in Semi, likewise FA Cup. (I'm aware of banana skins but (tomorrow night notwithstanding, we have avoided the majority (of such skins) so far.) ....(Semi's only mentioned in the off chance we should get there)

Random Opposition
Torres looks like he is struggling to gel into a new team. 3 games no goals

Carroll - may make his debut this weekend. No games no goals

Dzeko - 2 in 8 Starting to look the part

Balotelli - I believe in the guy but who knows..

Carlos - Guaranteed

So, this may be just may take on the current board, which seems really negative, but correct me where apt, but this could be the best season in (my) living memory.

At what point do we acknowledge & enjoy this?

After we've won the next two PL games.

Once we do that job, without fucking up, I recon the table will look pretty good & I think we'll be in great shape to get something from Chelsea, then beat Sunderland. If we get this bit right, I recon that if & when we do slip up, we'll get the points back because our rivals will also slip up sometimes especially as they play each other.

Two home banker home games; win them & the Champ's Lg will becon, then we can enjoy the cups without extra pressure.

For me, the next 3 week period are crucial in all competitions and it could well define our season.

Europa League..We play Aris and if through that, both Kiev games. Get through and we're in the quarter finals.
FA Cup...Villa is winnable as are either Everton or Reading...and we're in the semi finals at Wembley.
Prem...Fulham and Wigan at home should be, as Ted says, home bankers. and maximum points means 55pts.

I fancy Arsenal will take the title by a bigger margin than would seem obvious now and we'll come in 3rd.

After the next two games, I can see people saying, "Oh wait, we can't relax until we beat Liverpool and at least draw w/ chelsea."

The big point for me is that we are able to make it to the Europa finals. It's very do-able and winning that competition would be a huge boost to this club. It would generate lots of momentum going into next season, help us recruit a new player or two, and shut everyone up about "when will city show a return on all the money." It will be a statement that we have arrived and give our squad the ruthless mentality that can only come with confidence.

It is. That's why I'm slightly worried that we have been going through a rough patch these past few months.

We can never ever really relax, just as the rags can't but if we win the next 2 PL games, we will have put ourselves in the position to finish at least 4th as long as we match the results of the others; they all have hard games to come & will probably drop points as often as us. These two games are our bankers. If we drop points in those games we will be in an absolute fight to the death where every slip up will cause panic & we may well miss out. Absolutely crucial 6 points imo.

I have said in the past that the games will get more important and bigger and bigger as we go along.
So if we do well in the next three weeks the spell after that will include:
Europa quarter and possibly semi finals.
FA Cup semi's
Crucial games in the grind towards 4th/3rd/2nd/Champions in the league.
Hopefully by May we will be saying, "the F A Cup final, Europa Cup final and winning the title at Bolton are the three biggest games ....etc etc."

Worry not, slightly or otherwise Antti mate.
I always thought that bringing Dzeko into the fols up front would cause us some temporary problem until he assimilated. Most of the season, Tevez has had all the space in front of him as his own. Bringing Dzeko in closed down some of that space and he has had to find options.
Although it was only Notts county, there were good signs that a partnershp copuld be forged and I think it will improve as we go. A couple of relatively easy games (compared to some of the harder and more crucial ones to come) give us a chance to see that partnership settle.
De Jong will return and our spine will be complete again. Just in time for the run in and the last sprint to the finish.

You can now sleep easy and concentrate on the bump that sleeps beside you.

We will keep on notching up the points and we WILL finish third!!!.

Bit worrying on the injury front, but am sure that we now have the mentality to see this season out and get things wrapped up with a FA Cup win under our belts!!!
