I'm not making it a complete excuse but we are having to play a ridiculous number of extra games in this bloody competition. Fulham looked fresher and they were. Now we've got to pick ourselves up for a Wednesday match against Villa. They've got an extra day to recover and didn't play last Thursday. If we get past them how are we supposed to pick ourselves up against Everton two days after a tiring journey back from Kiev? The Europa Cup could end up costing us everything; a CL place and the FA Cup.

For Ted's benefit Kolarov was crap but there again he wasn't the only one by any means. I'm really pissed off.

I agree, but the players need to get use to it, indeed most of them should be use to it from previous clubs!

I think the Europa Cup and Champs League teams play a pretty similar number of games. Arsenal have played more games than us and seem to be doing pretty well!

The biggest, most pathetic excuse for playing shit.

All the top teams play many games - they get on with it and normally win.......we dont.

Yes I am sure the reason we set up with just 3 attacking players on the pitch is because we have played a lot of games. Tiredness of selection clearly and even too tired to bring in any fresh legs.

I think we play 4 more games than a team who automatically qualifies for CL group stages (ie finishes third or higher in the Prem); the first round (before group stages), and the round of 32.

And you just know we won´t win it - or anything else for that matter - going from bad to worse in the league

Of course it's not the only reason; we are suffering from a lot of key injuries to key players. Kompany, Silva, Richards, De Jong, AJ that's five really good players who would generally start an important game. Everyone talked about our huge squad but now with all these injuries it looks dangerously threadbare given that we need to freshen up the side every few days and we can't.

I'm sure people would say we should be able to cope with all these matches but the evidence today is that we can't.

Our supposed 25 man squad is actually only about 18 or 19. Now with the i njuries we have it's looking a bit short.Wonder why?

Beating Notts County or Leicester in 1 tie shouldnt be beyond us. Unfortunately it was, and that was fuck all to do with injuries.

We are playing extra games because we keep drawing in the FA Cup against poor teams.

The "we've got to play 3 games a week" bullshit excuse just does not hold water. To be a successful team you have to play lots of games. Don't want to play lots of games? - then go manage/play for a team competing for nothing.

It would also help if we played more than the same 14 players week in week out and not alienate a third of our 25 man squad.

Don't see that we can use Europa league as an excuse - how will we fare if we get CL and have to play against better opposition. Having so many injuries doesn't help, but we are going through a crap run of form at a crap time.
