I thought it was about time.
So, if we get our act together and win this game, we're up against Reading, am I wrong?

You got it spot on. Let's hope we get the better of Villa first.

once again we have a fantastic opportunity to really win this cup. Reading at home if we beat villa, if we fail tonight thenim sorry but mancini has some explaining to do regarding team selection and priorities, i would much rather win this cup than the europa cup, so the strongest team available tonight mr mancini please!! and that would rule out boateng and kolorov for me!!!!

Agreed. If these 2 clowns play, we are in trouble.

I suspect player availability, rather than form, will dictate who is ruled out.
I wouldn't necessarily omit Boateng, alongside Lescott,if Vince doesn't make it,would be my choice.Kolarov will have to play if Zab is needed at RB due to Richards' abscence.
I would certainly include Milner against his old club, and i would play him in the middle alongside Silva and one of Barry or Yaya if DJ is still out.The three strikers would also get another run out.

all out attack tonight get right at em. what a fantastic opportunity. it won't be easy tonight villa have been scoring lots of goals recently so hopefully vinnie will play. i think sunday showed us how valuable david silva is as well could do with him, either in place of mario or dzeko. COME ON CITY!!

Can we start a game without playing 3 forwards, please.
PS. Nice and early, I like it.

Villa seem to be galvanised at the moment, and there may also be the Barry and Milner factor. Mind you, the latter didn't exactly serve them too well last time we played them at home... This is likely to be a tough game, with Villa up for it and scrapping for everything - a bright start which fades after 20 or 30 minutes won't be good enough. That said, I think we'll win. I can't believe our players are so abject that they don't want to make amends for Fulham.

This is the 158th competitive meeting of these clubs, and their third this season. Honours are even after the two Premier League clashes.
Manchester City 4-0 Aston Villa (Prem Lge, 28 Dec)
Aston Villa 1-0 Manchester City (Prem Lge, 22 Jan)
• This is the eighth occasion these clubs have been drawn to meet each other in the FA Cup.
• Manchester City progressed for the fifth time in their most recent clash this month five years ago. They won 2-1 in a fifth round replay at Eastlands.
• Villa have not knocked out City since a 3-2 triumph in the 1938 quarter-finals.
MANCHESTER CITY
Current form
• Undefeated in four league and cup games (W2, D2), conceding just one goal in the process.
• Lost one of eight.
• Not lost in eight at home; won seven and drawn one at Eastlands, since Everton's 2-1 triumphant visit on 20 December.
FA Cup form
• Needed home replays to get past Leicester and Notts County in the previous two rounds.
• Knocked out by Stoke in the fifth round last season; the last time they were drawn against a Premier League club in the competition.
• The four-times winners, who have not lifted the trophy since 1969, are hoping to reach the last eight for the first time in four years.
ASTON VILLA
Current form
• Saturday's 4-1 home win over Blackburn, was Villa's first victory in four in all competitions.
• Lost one of nine.
• Kept one clean in 21 league and cup games.
FA Cup form
• Already knocked out Championship club Sheffield United and fellow Premier League Blackburn in this cup run.
• The seven-times winners, who last lifted the trophy in 1957 and last appeared in the final in 2000, reached the semi-finals last year.
• Been knocked out by Premier League clubs in nine of the last 11 occasions they have been drawn against them in the competition.
Referee: Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)
Assistant referees: Simon Long and Ceri Richards
Fourth official: Jon Moss

Clattenburg as ref, he is garbage.
We'll win tonight, they have got no Darren Bent and I just fancy us to start like we did for the first half hour against Aris in the 2nd leg i.e. play some quality football and win the tie with something to spare....hopefully....please
Whatever happens, no replay as that'd mean Wigan on Saturday, Villa away on Monday, Kiev on Thursday and Reading on Sunday..a nightmare schedule. Win or bust tonight for the FA Cup

Anyone remember the game v Liverpool at Maine Rd, when we were giving George (Scouselicker) Courtney shit for corruptly failing to send off one of their lot for a deliberate, obvious, last man, prof foul & he retaliated by giving them their 2nd terrible penalty for a Breardsley dive, which he 'saw' from being positioned about 50 yards away? Then he stood, hands on hips, looking at the crowd as they shouted at him?
2 Liverpool fans sat behind me were embarrassed, one said "I don't fucking believe this".
Clattenburg is exactly the same kind of ref imo.
