While I'm Getting Ahead of Myself

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Wed Mar 02, 2011 9:29 am

Since we lost to the shite at the swamp, I've felt that our dealings with them for the season aren't over. I'd fancy our chances against them after being the better side in that game. However can you imagine the carnage after the game, if we were to be denied by them at Wembley? I suspect it would all get too much for many and end up in a right carve up. At least we'd have the trains and roads to ourselves on the way back North.

Piccs - Im sure Villa will be looking at the way the draw has shaped up and be thinking the same thing as us. Plus we have the ex-City player factor in Dunney too. Lets worry about Villa and concentrate on them 100%, and let the other stuff take care of itself.

Oh, and yes you are getting way ahead of yourself. We are in round 5 at the moment and nowhere near the final, and havent seen a final in 30 years. Lets worry about the opponents when we face them.

5th. Villa
1/4. Reading
Semi. Stoke or West Ham
Final. Arsenal/Scum/Bolton/Brum

Provided we sneak by Villa I'll be very disappointed if we don't make the final. I'd probably prefer anyone there but the scum though - the nerves would be shot on that day as it is.

If we get to the final and it's with the scum I'm sure 100% that we will lose. They are currently more used than us to that kind of games, while for us woulod be the first time in 30 years; true, we have players like Tevez, Yaya, Kolo, even Balotelli who have been there with their previous clubs but for many others like Komps, De Jong, Kolarov, Boateng, Dzeko, Richards, Silva it will be a relatively new experience and to add that to the pèressure/tension of a derby game would make our legs tremble, I'm convinced of that.

But let's focus on taking care of Villa first, eh.

I couldn't watch a derby final....... until the 96 minute when the ball breaks to Nige on the edge of the box.......

I don't think Villa fans will be looking at the route to the semi with the same confidence as us. We stand in their way, and they did get twatted here only a few weeks ago.

Jesus man, have some goddamn belief. If we meet them in the final we'll win 100%. I don't see the point in such crushing pessimism.

And I'm getting myself a supply of sedatives to last through the rest of the season. I'm totally fucking bricking it, and can't see anything but a total collapse and us missing out on both Champions League and silver wear.

I think I might have to fly John68 in for an evening of blind optimism. Seems like the only cure right now.
