Got to be first choice with Vinny in the centre

Had an excellent game and is gaining confidence..I reckon he might just be worth that price tag after all

Yeah agree completely Beeks. Is finally looking like a player who has settled into the team and putting in the performances we initially expected.

A confident, inform Lescott vs, a Confident in-form Toure is a tough call.

Toure is a better footballer imo, but Lescott can handle the bigger lumps i.e. Heskey better. I've seen Lescott play badly and make bad decisions when he's been short of confidence, but I've seen Toure make bad decisions at times, and also be less brave than Lescott. Less strong.

Great to have both depending the type of centre forward we're up against.

boateng was also very assured in the middle. should stop playing him at full back and leave micah and zabs as our choices there

I agree. I was really surprised to see some critisism of Boateng in the *** *** thread as I browsed through the pages

Yep. Well played. Let's keep everything in perspective, though.

Not sure if he did a great job keeping Heskey and Adebaydirtyshitbarstardor quiet or was it that those 2 were so shit even I could have defended against them?

We all saw the real Lescott last season for a few games. Now we are seeing him again, if he can stay fit for the rest of the season and chip in with a few our those match winning headers, then he will start looking more like a 24 mil player!

The back four were all very good tonight.Micah and Zabaleta both played very well.

I would love to see a regular back four of Zab,Lescott,Kompany and Richards.Would be a very strong unit.

I think it's not, Toure is a more football wise player, what i notice with Lescott he is standing still all the
time making the simples passes, no creativity. Toure can run with the ball and going forward, he is also with not
a doubt our second best defender after vinny. The majority of this forum will rate Lescott because of his nationality,
still not right.

To be fear he was ok today, no one had a bad game.

Boateng was much better tonight but I still thought he looked horribly exposed at times. I still dread the sight of him against top qulaity for us.

i'm his biggest critic but he's been steady these last few weeks certainly prefer him to toure. just wish he wouldn't leather it up the pitch back to the opposition time after time. at everton he was a better ball player than what he is now. i think it will come though. and you could never have convinced me of that this time 6 months ago. keep it up joleon!

Agree that Kolo is the better footballer, (I think I said that), he does go on the odd surging run which is nice, and not something I would ever expect of Lescott, but I don't really want our central defenders to go on mad crazy rampages. We're supposed to have the quality elsewhere to allow the defenders to stay in position and defend.

Lescott is looking back to his best, the player i thought we were signing.....

Boateng is simply a different player in the middle than the floundering, out of his depth one we see at fullback.

2nd and 3rd choices for me.

Kolo,i simply do not rate - Poor distribution, physically weak and flaps like fuck under pressure.I would be showing him the door in the summer.

Silva MOTM but Jolene was easily 2nd..Excellent performance tonight and deserves a 1st choice alongside Vinny.
Same for Micah at right back.He deserves a permanant slot to.

He played well tonight but he was up against absolute dogshit forwards. My mum would have looked ok against that fucking shower.

On the whole he's doing well though, but he did last season when he was fit.

He's definitely getting close; he had begun to show some decent form in the latter half of last season until suffering a season-ending injury.
The problem for Mancini is if he has four centre backs, all playing well, how to keep them all sharp enough, should he need to play them in the big games.
And nice to see that he hasn't forgotten Boyata.

We have no problem finding games for them...The recent moan has been about too many games, coming along too quickly.

What is also great about Lescott is that he doesn't moan when he's not playing. Just keeps his head down and works his way back into the team.
