Nigel and Vinnie

Popped along to Carrington this morning to see if any of the injured might be out working. Not while I was there but I did get a little update. Cones and poles were being put out for Nigel to do some work and it seems he will be fine for Saturday as will Vinnie.Whether they will be selected or allowed another few days recovery is anyone's guess.

Sad that Gunnar Neilsen's injury is the worst possible as it's a bad cruciate and will be a 12 month job. Assulin is soft tissue in his knee but ,as it the same knee he has just recovered from, it's not great and I think he might miss the rest of the season.

Nimley who has just got back to fitness ( I think a groin problem) has had a slight setback so recovering again. Benali has done his other ankle so out again. Tom Smith did break his leg last week in the EDS game so 3 or 4 months for him.

Good news on De Jong and Kompany. Will be great to see them back in the fold. As fo the other lads, its get well soon though thankfully none of them are pivotal players like the top 2 in the report, who are the ones we would want fit the most.

Awful news for Gunnar, sadly this does leave us with Taylor as backup, scary scary thought there.

sad news for the long term lads. big shame for assulin, was hoping to maybe see a small cameo appearance in the first team this year in the 1st team. a full pre season will do him good though.

Thanks Doug. The goalkeeping situation is very worrying. I just hope to God Joe doesn't get injured. Very good news about Vinnie and Nigel. We can probably do without Vinnie on Saturday but it would be nice to see Nigel given at least half an hour.
