I'll say one thing for Spurs; they're not playing like a team that are "tired". Maybe they are tired, but I'm not hearing about it or seeing it. If they carry on like that for another 45 minutes (or 75?) they might actually have an excuse.

Hmm. Adrian Chiles has just said you couldn't get a ticket to Spurs v Milan "for love nor money". Maybe it's because Spurs have a capacity of about 36,000.

i hate the 'tired' excuses mate, but tottenham haven't played nearly as many games as us in 2011. some down to our own fault like the replays with notts and leicester mind.

Really? I'd have thought a team in the CL would have had plenty of games.

Mancini, though, only has himself to blame with replays. He almost seems to want the bloody things going by team selections!

they are looking tired now, but lennon is still going strong and we don't need to get started on bale when he gets going. it makes me realise that we have absolutely no pace in our side whatsoever. our creative players like silva and AJ aren't pacey, and neither are our full backs. can we get by in this day and age without it?

You're 100% correct. If we do have pace, I'd like to know where it's hidden. At his best, SWP could change a game. We don't have that now.

yeh swp is still kind of pacey, but he has lost a yard or two by now. there has to be pace out there, but doesn't seem to me like mancini is interested in pace at all, he likes a slow build up. tonight every time aaron lennon got going, i sat up and noticed, it does wonders for the atmosphere in the ground because it really gets the crowd riled up.

Lennon was a fantastic outlet.

Going forward Spurs are pretty one dimensional. Bale wasn't fit but it's basically using quality pace down the flanks, picking out Crouch beyond the far post where he can knock it back for Van der Vaart or whoever. That said it's a very good dimension and we have to snuff it out at the COMS. I don't think any of our full backs are good enough to do it so we need to double up on both flanks as necessary. If we can stop that threat at source Spurs look a bit toothless. They were outplayed in midfield for long periods. The thing that impressed me though was their defence which was very good. A weakness is Gomez who did lots of good things but is prone to howlers like the dreadful throw out which nearly caused a goal.

Should we have more pace available to us in the run in? Of course. SWP isn't anywhere near as productive as Lennon, I'm afraid. Even AJ uses trickery more than pace. We should have bought a really good wide right player in the transfer window. Why didn't we?

Perhaps his worst exibition tonight against spuds but don't forget he's one of the best AC Milan players in all games of serie A. Serie A, of course, is a less important championship than Premier League for me and that's why Rob is so an important player for Rossoneri!

Look on youtube at City 5 Spurs 2. Everything went down the wings, John Motson getting all excited shouting "vintage wing-play."
Great to watch, and so simple:
1. winger runs fast. 2. beats full-back 3. kicks ball into middle. 4. striker runs onto it while defenders are still turning
5. striker kicks/heads ball into net.

All night on the radio, it's been a celebration of Spurs getting past Milan. You'd have thought they had been magnificent and battered the Italians into submission. Comments about how lethat Spurs are and how nobody wants to be drawn against then and how they could now go on and win it.

The game I saw had Spurs in a backs to the wall battle to save themselves being overrun. Mostly chasing shadows and on their own middin too.

If that had been City, it would have been a shameful display by City, who just and luckily managed to scrape through.

Damn right, and we would have been severely pissed off, came on here to vent it and you would have mentioned that we've only lost 2 in 19 and to shut up.
