I seriously hope he comes good next season.
Looks very poor imo.
He doesn't look like the player we need at all.
Very poor passer, doesn't seem to be a threat upfront.

come on pal, his passing was atrocious. not his fault if he doesn't get chances, but he struggled to do the simple things tonight.

What do you expect? Have you seen him in front of the goal?
He needs to go back to get a decent ball

He was a strange purchase, completely the wrong player for our 'system'(whatever that is....)
Dzeko is clearly a decent player, who would thrive in a team with width.Maybe AJ will bring out the best in him.

Like i said before.
I'll give him till next season, no doub't others will to?
He played in a very good league in Germany and was a success.
Hope he does it for us.
The only outright successful signings we have made imo are Komps, silva, tevez and yaya toure,de jong.
The others are very questionable.
I have slated yaya previously but he's been our mainstay in midfield.
The rest are average at best or down right pathetic signings.
I now the owners have massive amounts of money but surely they should think before we even but some of these players?
Jo for instance, i know the current owner didn't buy him but he's fucking championship level at best?
Kolorov, fuck me, shite.
Balla=wanker.
Barry-average.
Robinho-another one.
Boateng-don't think even he knows what his best position is?

How can you lot say this guy is shit when he constantly having to play up front with a moaning winging 10 years old and getting absolutely little or no service from the flanks or through the middle. The way we are playing at the moment is awful and things need to change. This guy WILL become one of the best in the prem, mark my words!!!!! He was pretty poor tonight but he still stried but contantly has to keep dropping deep to get hold of the ball! Give him a few more games and he will be rockin n rollin!

Dzeko on average got better service in one game for Wolfsberg that he's had in all the games for City & that's not an exaggeration. Sometimes he did fuck all with it but his record shows that if you get the ball to him in the right areas, he'll get plenty of goals. Truth is, he would have found it easier to score in Joe Royle's team than in this one & that's a fault we need to fix.

Lack of service doesn't excuse his shit passing and game tonight. He was awful. Needs time though before making anyone can judge. Brilliant the last Europa game, crap tonight.

I believe Dzeko is a quality player who needs a different kind of service than he is getting at the moment. To an extent of course he is getting almost no service at all but I really don't want to see him forgaing for the ball in deep situations and trying to make the play. That isnt his game as far as I can see but if he does sit up top looking for some quality to come his way it just isn't happening.
I remain absolutely baffled that we cannot get a decent cross in for game after game and then the first one Kiev get over and it''s a goal. Also why do we let players get crosses in,That's another subject for another thread.
Dzeko wasnt very good tonight whatever role he was given but I am not going to blame him as he was given nothing to work with.

I dont in any way blame him for the loss Doug, he just seems shit at the basics sometimes ie control and passing. But I do think he will become an important player for us

No argument from me. I just want to see him in different areas of the pitch a lot more of the time.

We've mentioned about the crossing being poor all season. Some people were under the misguided impression that it's because Mancini doesn't see crossing as part of his plans but he's catagorically stated that he DOES & that we should be finding Dzeko in the box. That being the case, sooner or later we should expect to see a big improvement in that part of our game. Sooner rather than later I'd say. It's about time it was sorted out.
Twice at the end of the game, our big players went forward for a ball into the box & we passed it sideways. After the 1st time, you'd think the instruction would have come from the bench either for the big men to stay back or for the ball to go in. The fact that no plan was executed a second time, makes me wonder whether anyone was directing the show.
Everytime I think of tonight's game I find I've got another question that I'd like answering.

Dzeko can really head a ball but we never cross to him and so take out a huge part of his game. Then he has to come back to the halfway line just to get the ball.So in effect we are taking him out of games coz he is not where he should be in the fuckin box waiting for crosses to put his noggin on.

After listening to people on here rave about him for a year before we signed him & all the supposed intrest in him from other clubs I have to admit I expected alot more from him, no pace cant pass & his first touch is shite apart from that he is ok.
Do we expect to much from these high valued new signings?

He didn't play well, but neither did loads IMO.
This guy will score shit loads of goals with the right service to the right areas.
And that is our biggest problem. We don't have any pace which was our biggest oversight in the window, nor do we have anyone capable of crossing the ball with any kind of consistancy. So what we're left with is striker who loves getting on the end of crosses and no one to cross... and a playmaker that can thread the perfect ball onto a pacey wideman/striker and no pacey wideman or striker to get on the end of them.
I can see this a mile away. Roberto can't though.
Dzeko will be fine, but until we have the above problem(s) sorted out, then we need to revert to our play right before we bought him and Balo was out injured.
Lets get Tevez up there again, scoring and winning us games until we achieve our target. Stop fucking around at the business end of the season or you'll be out of the job Roberto... then you won't have to worry about "being tired".

We know he has all those things in his locker, he has already proved that in Germany. But remember that he was used to that league, it was inside his comfort zone. In this league, he is still having to learn, He has only been here a short time, he is still at the learning stage over here. Give him time and he may suprise you.
