With the exception of some dodgy defending in the last 10 minutes I thought the back three did really well today.

We might as well stick to just 3.......Id tell Kolorov to go anywhere he wants to go...just not at the back...fucking liability.

Lescott was immense today. A couple of shaky moments at the end but he won everything in the air.

Him and Kompany are going to be vital to us making a success of the run-in!

He's much improved, but it was a very average Championship side, so perspective is required. Mind you, every other City player was playing an average Championship side, and they were mostly shit.

Kompany, Lescott, De Jong. Very, very good. Kolarov had a nightmare 1st, absolutely terrible half of football.

I thought Lescott was MOTM until he let a couple of things go in the last 10 minutes.

He's been been very good lately and growing in confidence. Won everything today except for the lapse at the end when he left the ball thinking that Barry or Kolarov will get it. Big mistake but it happens to the best.
Gives me confidence now, seeing him in the defence.

Is not just today. He had a great month, looking like the man that was at everton.

Yeah hes been top notch recently its a huge plus for us.Has regained the form he had at Everton that made us shell out so much money for him.Long may it continue.

Really happy with Micah, Kompany and Lescott they are really doing the business, slot Zabaleta in at left back and i will be happy.

Long may it continue, he owes us some damn good form, and we seem to be getting it now. Good communication and understanding with Komps!.

Been superb, got his confidence back, and going from strength to strength. I just wish we'd utilise him at set pieces more, he used to be so dangerous. Or was that just against us?

That's how I saw it with Kolarov. He wasnt very good to start and I was worried that Kebe guy would kill him but to be fair ,although one or 2 crosses came from that side, he didn't get skinned and the crosses were from deepish rather than the by line.It also seemed to me that both he and Richards were not overlapping/supporting as much as we know they can.I can only assume that was Mancini.

To be fair I thought he got rinsed a bit in teh first half, improved in the second, and without anything spectacular, was much stronger overall than last game. BUT - I still fear for him against decent out and out wingers. Dunno if it's fitness or what, but he needs to imrpove a lot.

The irony is that the commentary on 5Live thought Lescott was a bit nervous, in fact Alan Green (yeah not much of a surprise there) and Jimmy Armfield (I normally listen to what he has to say) both weren't convinced with Lescott and felt that Kompany was having to cover for him a lot - funny how different people see different things in players

Kept my beady eye on him all game and he did great.Fantastic in the air and put some well timed tackles in,looks good with Vinny..Hope we get a more settled defense now..It will be important against the rags and the rest of the campaign.
