You ain't supposed to make fun of that; apparently, we play the shittiest football on Earth, even when we are camped for most of the 90 minutes in front of the opposition's goal, and create a decent number of good chances which our off form striker can't convert.

Seriously tho, we do need to play better, but today wasn't as shit as some would have us believe imho.

I'd have thought you'd have logged in to say something positive after reaching the FA Cup semis, not have a sly pop at a large percentage of fans.

I'd say it's actually a minority of fans.

The problem is the boo boys, by design, make themselves louder than everybody else. Genuinely don't think a large percentage would be saying "sack the lot of them"

Agree that the thread is fucking stupid though.

Ah, you've spotted the irony.

Oh come on. The last few weeks this place has been awful. Let's focus on the positive fact that we are in the FA Cup semi.

Hindsights always 20/10 innit Tony?

We got through, therefore all the complaining and moaning must be invalidated? Bet you were saying that at half time, or any time before Micah nodded in the winner, right?

Camped in the opposition half....at home....versus a championship side?

I would be mortified if we weren't, doesn't make all the problems we've had over the last few months just evaporate into thin air, but if you think everything is fine and wonderful then by all means, share whatever you're taking.

I thought we were ok. Took a long time til score but we were fine.
And no moaning in the ground either. Best atmosphere there for some time.

Sounded top I have to say.

In terms of the performance, well we didn't lack energy IMO and there was a decent level of invention. It was just one of those nights til the goal where things didn't quite click/run in the last part of every move.

Another day Carlos, Silva, SWP, Yaya would have all potentially scored and/or made a better decision with the last ball and passed rather than shot (or vice versa). That, combined with the fact that their keeper played out of his skin, kept us at bay til the goal.

They threatened our goal about 2 or 3 times all game, we were always looking to get at them and the crowd didn't let up. I didn't doubt we'd get a goal in the end TBH.

As for the OP. Well, I do agree about the vocal minority and their chest beating since Kiev (which is exactly why I mainly steered clear) but why the need to post this rather than something positive I just do not know

Of course it wasn't. Job done. Reading have won away at several Premier teams and in the past would've added us too. Easily.

It's really infant school to be saying 'cos it's Reading we should win 5-0', like some morons seem to think.

Don't think that, I do think there are some problems with the side and we aren't playing as well as we should/could. However, I for one am enjoying being a City fan at the moment and I think that some of the hyper-criticism that goes on is over the top.

Strange thing is, if you're at the ground, you don't hear the complaints, at least not in a way that affects the players.

It's almost as if people support the team when they're watching them and then come on an internet forum to share an opinion afterwards. What a bunch of tossers. In future, they should sing Mancini out at the ground, instead.

It was a poor attempt at sarcasm. I am very happy at the moment.

You and me both!

(and for the record I understand the desire to cock a snook at the naysayers mate!)

Very good post. It seem someone understands the point of having a chat forum.

I'll comment on this since I mentioned it in my previous post; I did say that we should have played better, however while what we did was just above the minimum requirement, it wasn't as bad as some in the match thread kept saying; had Tevez had his scoring boots on, we could have had it wrapped quite comfortably, not to mention the chances fluffed by SWP and Silva.

I'm not saying we played Barca-like, mind you. Just not so bad.

Good to see we agree then ;)

I thought it was a good cup tie. Both teams were looking to win it from the start.
We could've been three up at half time if Silva and SWP had finished better.
Good atmosphere, especially with the Poznan wave going around the 1st tier - my first time on level 1 and loved it! Will be hoping the three of us can move from the ghost seats up top next year.

Plus, I only saw a fraction of the number of fans leaving early when we were 1 up. Although, i still couldn't believe it, as it wasn't over at that point.

Nice that many stayed well past the end and applauded Reading off the pitch for their efforts too.
