There will be millions all over the world watching this game and a win for City could be a huge statement and be a big help in bringing in more fans (locally and globally). Or will it be just another day at the office?

If that happens then John68 will have his work cut out to convince us that Typical City doesn't exist :)

We now need to start winning to expand our Fan Base and the FA will do just nicely.
I wonder what Tactics Bob will play against the Scum.

We aren't playing Chelsea you dumb bastid.
john68 wrote:I'll play the game with you Beefers...In the big picture...For us, we have little to lose, yet so much to gain.
Most of the World will see the rags sat at the top of the league, look at their recent history and expect the rags to win. They will probably see us a much improved side, expect us to give it a good go but we will be the underdogs.
If we lose, they will judge that nothing has changed and that the rags remain top dogs whilst City remain as challengers who haven't yet reached their standard. In that respect, nothing will have changed and the World will continue as normal. The rags will have a laugh and another reason to take the piss, whilst we will yet again have to suffer it and swallow our pride. But in reality, NOWT will have changed. The rags will still be considered top dogs and we will still be behind them as challengers. In that respect, we have very little to lose.
If we win, it could open up a new World for us and it is a massive opportunity for us to make a huge statement on the big stage, with the World and his dog watching. Much of the impact of a City win will depend on how well we win and it will also depend on whether we can go on and bag the cup in the final...and whether the rags then go on to win the League and have their trophy trump ours.
Locally, a City win will be as big as it gets...at least until we have another opportunity to assert our hegemony over them. It will give us the chance to ram a few years of taunting back down their throats, force them to remove the banner and allow us to stamp all over their arrogance...I for one can't wait.
BUT...if we do win, it will only be a temporary aberation to the World order, unless we subsequently go on to win the Cup and then continue our dominance over them in a more permanent way, as we did in the 60s/70s.
SO MUCH TO GAIN...SO LITTLE TO LOSE....CUMMON YOOOO BLOOOOZ.
