3-1 and out on away goals.

Just put a bet on City and Liverpool to both win the 90 minutes. Evens for the double. I'd be amazed if it doesn't come in.

i predict that if i see more than one DM in the team and/or kolarov on the left wing, i will moan like nikki from big brother getting banged for 6 hours by lou ferrigno.

We gifted them opportunities at their place, so while they will again be playing on the counter I'd be surprised if we even let them get a sniff this time. deJong will help in that.
imo, they will be looking to just stop us and hold on to the 2-0 lead, ok for sure looking for the away goal but not at the expense of risking the lead they have, so if we can crack them open and get it back to 2-2 they may well suffer from the inability to alter their game plan after playing most of the game defending. Ideally the best time to get the second goal would mid second half, forcing them to change their pattern of play and hit them while they are trying to re-organise.

I'm going for 4-0 with the 4th not coming until right near the last minute.

Tonight will be a great comeback, it will be a defining moment in Citys history as the kick up the arse that spurred us on to win the tournament.

I'll be able to say "I was there"... all these chumps who cant be arsed showing up are going to miss something special tonight!!

4-1 with our 4th coming in Fergie time. City never do things the easy way and will have us biting nails, crying, shouting at the telly, kicking the dog and then spraying beer all over the house doing the conga (for those watching at home)

We will win but it ain't gonna be enough. 1-0 I say with [strike]Dzeko[/strike] Balo scoring.
Please let me be wrong!

edit: just noticed it's Edin's birthday. Nobody ever scores on their birthday/milestone game.

I can't think anything other than them sticking 10 men behind the ball for all 90 minutes, we didn't manage to find the net at their place despite playing our most attacking away game in Europe so far.

Unless we score the have absolutely no need to even bother attacking.

Sorry guys, i really just can't see a positive outcome to this one tonight and i am normally the optimistic one too!!!

GOD i hate what have just typed :-(

I agree with sandman, i rekon this can be one of those defining games. One i wish i was going to.. for that reason.

I dont want to start a Mancini thing on this thread, but his comments reported on the OS saying we can't go gung-ho and have to be patient.. are going to give a lot of ammo to those of us thinking he is too cautious in big games.
Personally i am a believer in the difference between what a manager sets out as what he wants and the reality that players encounter on the pitch. For that reason i dont always look to blame the manager and see it that the players have just as big a responsibility in games.
So with that said i'm hoping that the players realise that Kyiv are not that good and regardless of what Bobby is telling them they have the ability to crush Kyiv. Ok we don't want them getting a breakaway but that is not an excuse for dawdling in going forward because we are looking for a safe pass all the time.

So with what sandman is saying I'm hoping that this will be a defining game for the players where they take responsibility to strike their own balance between what Bob is asking and what they encounter on the pitch.

As it stands we are out of the Europa Cup and only goals will change that reality.
