Zabs out for a while

Postby Blue2 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 11:50 am

Not seen this anywhere else

Pablo Zabaleta is out of Manchester City’s next two games as he keeps a vigil at the hospital bedside of his critically ill father.

The popular Blues star learned that his dad, 57-year-old Jorge Ruben Zabaleta, had been seriously hurt in a car crash in Buenos Aires on Saturday.

He was immediately granted leave to withdraw from the squad to face Reading and he and girlfriend Christel Castano flew to Argentina.

Sr Zabaleta is in a coma and has serious head, neck and chest injuries, and is being treated in an intensive care unit at a hospital in the city of Pergamino after his car left a road and ran into a ditch on Saturday afternoon.

Zabaleta will miss the clash with Kiev and Sunday’s Premier League showdown at Chelsea, and has been granted indefinite leave by City.

Apparently she is a supermodel. I don't get it!

Amazing what a bit of makeup can do to a freckly ginner

Sad to hear. Wondered what 'personal reasons' were. I'm sure the club would get a much better response if they told us straight away.

fucked up on several levels obviously.

firstly, i'm gutted for Zabba. Heartwrenching stuff. I can't imagine how he's feeling.

secondly, his missus is adorable ffs. ridiculous.

My thoughts are with you and your family Pablo. Good luck son.

May I echo those sentiments and not some of the so called clever fuckwittery previously mentioned.

Sickening news.

Hope things work out okay for Pablo and his father. I hope he knows plenty of City fans will be thinking the same - he's the sort of player you can't help but appreciate for what he does (and for outside the club too - look how often he supports Christie Hospital etc) and I'm sure we'll all cheer him on when he gets back. Fingers crossed.
