Silver linings thread

What silver linings can we draw from tonight's performance and result?

1. A fixture free week before the semi.

AJ got a bit of gametime.

Dzeko reminded everybody why he's so sought after.

Decent enough attendance given the circumstances (people still only just getting out from work, Mancini boring us to death etc)

We can play the Semi-Final on the Saturday.

Do United have to play a CL game that week?

I hope Dzeko will get more game time, for I don't see yet how good he is.

No more "fixture congestion" excuses, that ones solved.

A free week before the semi whilst United will be playing in europe, so no excuses please Mr Mancini

Perhaps Mancini will realise playing Balotelli in big games, is like pissing around with a lit firework - soone or often it will blow up in your face, sadly too often where Mario is concerned

No more Thursday night games in from of 25k and two empty top tiers

All our eggs now in the FA Cup basket

Some breathing space in the title run in
(and with Ferdinand out for the remainder of the season,....who knows)

I also thought that, without Balotelli, we looked closer to the team Mancini has always been building towards.
All this media bullshit about his 'negativity' playing three defensive midfielders
(even if they have had to reluctantly had to conceded thats not Ya Ya's role)
But our two raiding full backs means that our defensive midfielders also serve as utility defenders.
(and thats what he's been building towards)

But lets hope he goes into Sunday's game knowing that, playing like this, we can beat Chelsea!

After this disappointing game we know there's a young Italian fucking monkey playing at Eastlands. His name is Mario Balotelli and if Bobby Manc would go on giving him a glorious skyblue shirt I pretend Sheikh Mansour will sack both at the end of this season!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

i'm guessing he's trying to say that some of us are racist for deciding that balo and mancini are less than perfect.... rather than being racist himself.

either way, he's a cunt and can also fuck off for me.

i disagree.

I read it in the context like you would ' that northern monkey' or 'what the fuck are you doing you chimp'. Suppose it depends on who you are and your own inner monologue

with our illustrious cup history, we're out of another minor competition that we weren't really interested in.

Of course there's no silver lining. Personally, the only one I could see was if the sheikh had really fancied a night out in Dublin and, in a moment of annoyance, sacked mancini and balotelli in the morning.
