A Serious Weekend In Football

Things could be turned upside down this weekend. Spurs up first against West Ham could see them sit 2 points behind us with a game in hand after we play Chelsea. Again, another big game 'cos if Chelsea win we'll be sat on the edge of the CL spots with Spurs breathing down our necks (remember Spurs run-in last season?). However, a win for us would keep us clear of both by 5 points allowing them to win their games in hand and we'd still be 2 clear. Also, not forgetting, we've beaten Chelsea in our last 3 encounters so hopefully the bogey factor will continue (or is it Mancio has Carlos' number).
On top of that, United have a difficult game against Bolton while Arsenal look to have a chance of going level on points with a game in hand going into the break.
I'm looking forward to this weekend and let's hope it goes our way.

I admire your optimism, however I believe the polar opposite to your hopes is the most likely scenario, and we will all be suicidal come Monday morning

The next 3 games are the most important of our season.
Superseding 3 games ago when they were the most important.
But not as important as the next 3 after the upcoming 3

Well, we have slipped into that mode where nothing really seems to go right for us. Dumped out of Europa League and I expect us to be on the brink of slipping out of champs league spots by monday.

Alan Pardew has to have the worst mindgames of any manager.
"Stoke will have to win to stay in the league, so that will play into our hands"
THEY ARE TWO POINTS BEHIND YOU, YOU STUPID FUCKING MORON, A WIN AND THEY LEAPFROG YOU.

Ok, have this one then instead. MUCH more pleasing on the eye(Amanda Seyfried, not Meryl Streep to avoid any confusion).

In the same way that we have felt the necessity to win and then struggled, I'm hoping Spurs feel the pressure of another must win game.

Table updated, 4 point gap, same number of games now.
If we win it's a 7 point gap, with our GD it's like 8. Which means not only would they have to win their game in hand, but they would have to win two games in weeks when we got nothing.
Whatever the result we cannot be out of the running this weekend, but Spurs almost could be.

Cheers mate, probably explains it better. The 1st hurdle over with, now let's hope for some other decent results.

Fuck, there's some miserable gits on here. The 'Typical City' tag (if it's still in existence) also means that we can go out and smash 'em, and we've shown we can.
My pints brimming at the moment ;-)

So, statistically, we are still better than Spurs so far this season. It's amazing how a handful of flashy results in the Champions League can change how you are perceived.

Like I said, if we win we would be in an incredibly strong league position for a top4 finish, but then I got to thinking....when have City ever done anything the easy way?
