There was never going to be much happening today after the tough game on Thursday but at the scheduled start time of 11 there wasnt a soul about! I saw the first coach leave with the one with the kit on.I was told the chef had gone early as we always send a chef to the hotel to check on the food preparation and the players were arriving. Mancini had changed the time to 12 so it was a wait till eventually Joe and Stu Taylor came out to start work.The keepers always 10 to 15 minutes earlier than the rest.

Mario was first out as he often is and was chatting to one of the physios.The rest coming out in very leisurely fashion and in the end I think all were there apart from Zaba ( still at home with his father I assume) and Carlos,I expect just a precautionary rest.Good to see MJ back out to confirm that his injury setback was minor.A long chat from Mancini at the start was followed with the whole squad jogging away right around the fields,then back and into some short fitness exercises.It all appeared a laid back quiet group today and I would hope 1 or 2 of them might inject a little life and fun to help shake off the Kiev game.

And then I left! Shoddy I know but I am guessing there wouldnt be much to miss today.

We have had tempters all season about MJ. As much as I would like to see him back, I think we should accept he is never going to get back to Premiership level & let him go out on loan with a view to releasing him come summer

why should we do that. what on earth do we have to lose in keeping him around?

a full, injury free, pre-season and let's see how he goes at the start of next year. No point in risking him going out on loan now, being used recklessly and getting another knock/setback.

I thought he would be back by Xmas and making regular cup and sub appearances by now. But still not even a sniff, bar 1 bench;
