Just seen he scored for England under 16 tonight in the victory shield against ireland, wish i would have known earlier, it was on sky sports, another young lad of ours George Glendon came on aswell, they won 3-0.

Good to see the young blues representing their country.

He took his goal really well, hope he turns out half as decent as his dad.

His overall game is impressive,he's very enthusiastic, athletic, has excellent pace,a good touch and knows where the goal is.He is much taller than his dad and looks a real handful - a cracking prospect.

I remember watching Sturridge in one of these games a few years ago and he stood out a mile. Pity he was also a greedy mercenary.

Good luck to young Mr Cole.

It's difficult to judge at that age of course because he's playing against kids rather than men, but from what I saw in that game, he has all the raw ability & also has things never usually combined in young City forwards; pace, size & an understanding of how to play football. That was particularly evident from his unselfishness & the 1st touch one two three four he played with that (also tall & impressive) Arsenal lad who came on 2nd half. That was quick mentally as well as skillful.

They kept saying he's 6 ft 4 but if that's true, (& it could be because he was taller than his Dad at 13) then many of the England team & some of the Irish lads, must be fucking giants. Is this the latest trend; they've all been trying to sign kids who are enormous?

That's got to be very very bad news for football here if it's gone down that road, however good one or two may be.

I havent seen much of him for City but I didn't think he was that tall. I have heard good reports of him from the U 16's but on the brief bits I saw he didn't stand out much apart from good pace.Maybe he will get a look at the U 18's and I might see a little more this season.

He didn't look outrageously tall to me v Ireland (tall ish yes but not 6ft 4 like the commentator kept saying) which is why I was wondering if playing in England's team was like playing in Jurassic Park.

His Dad is 5'10.

Although it looks fairly recent,i'm not sure when this photo was taken.

Seen him play quite a few times for the under 16s this season and last.I havent managed to get down to platt lane for the last few months so maybe hes put on a serious growth spurt since I last saw him!!!!

Scoring a goal in a high profile match will probably put a bit of unfair pressure on him.Last I saw of him he was promising but there were quite a few rough edges to work on.Certainly some good raw promise for the coaches to work with.I believe Devante has been getting some coaching from Uwe Rosler.

Nah, I doubt he's grown at all, it will be the commentator being a complete knob. If I had to guess I'd say he's about 6ft maybe 6ft 1. Doug said on here that Uwe has been coaching him.

He's slouching slightly in that photo, I'd estimate he's around 6 feet if his dad is 5 foot 10 (though we can't see their feet in the photo to check what theyre standing on, and wearing). He's so young, and could still grow and fill out, but at that age he has a look of Adebayor about him in terms of build (I cant comment on how he plays because Ive never seen him)

Plus, knowing Andy Cole, he could be stood on a box so he doesn't look smaller.

I was impressed too, yes there's still plenty to learn but if the raw talent is there then it's a damn good start. He seemed to link up really well and took his goal well
