Training Saturday 2/4

All the same group out as yesterday plus McGivern,Wabara,Veseli and Kolo back again. Lots of fun and smiling as they went through all the warm up stuff and early exercises. This including the usual hand ball game,2 touch headed goals only and then the playground tag game starting with Tevez and Nigel chasing Vieira down. Nothing for the hovering photographers then as everybody was having fun.

Carminati had them playing 10 a side alternating on 2 separate pitches with small goals and then full sized goals. On one sudden switch Nigel got to the ball first and smashed it quickly into the net before he realised his team was kicking the other way!! Some of it was the ultimate playground fun with so many bodies close to and kicking at the ball.Quite a few extra specatators inside watching today including a family and small child asleep on a shoulder!

Then it was time for everyone to go behind fences as Mancini took the team for some normal shape and passing/attacking work. Often this would be the team for the game tomorrow but I very much doubt it this time as it didn't include Silva.Probably as much time spent in this part on corners, attacking and defending.Mancini rang the changes a lot in about 30 minutes of working in this session and just about every player was involved at some time.

The final session was a 10 a side game on half a pitch and 3 players didn't take part at all. They were MJ who went in plus Wabara and Veseli who stayed and kicked a ball around all the time. The intensity of yesterday wasn't there today which is no surprise the day before a match but good to see Vinnie fully involved after he wasnt yesterday. Also good to see Joe Hart let a soft one in today rather than tomorrow. Maybe Milner had put a lot of spin on it!

Nothing much of note in this final game. Plenty of endeavour, defences mostly winning the day.

Cheers Doug. Any sign of what the defence might look like tomorrow?

I do actually. Not ready yet but I think he could develop into a good centre back and the only question will be at what level.I know scouts have been at EDS matches watching him.

I know Cunningham was doing very well under Sven but i didn't think McGivern was all that, has he improved?

Trippier is the other i think could do well, and then we have Nuhu at Stromgodset, who apparently could be special.

Surely one,at least,will come good...!!

I saw a couple of McGivern's games for Leicester while he was on loan there, I think they were satisfied with him (despite his own goal). He's played in central defence for us the preseason before last as well, alongside Mee I think. He was pretty good in the air from memory.

Yes he can play centre back as well as full back and of course has international experience.I don't see him as a premiership player though.

Cunningham is another decent player but probably not quite top class enough. Trippier I really fancied a year or so back but then he didn't seem to come on.I hope his loan spells have done him good and then who knows.I think Barnsley have been very pleased with him. Not a clue about Nuhu.

Doug, sorry about the 20 questions, but did you ever see Sibierski train? It would just be interesting to know if he actually WAS a good player in training!

What time did they finish?

I got a corporate hospitality invite to WBA vs Red Scouse today and Bob was sitting about 10 seats from me.

He's got no staying power.........left before the final whistle.

If you mean what's the team then no:) Re the post hinting at 3 center backs it is true Mancini has worked with that option in training but not this week. But there again when he has worked on it he didn't use it so maybe he will this time.

No mate, would never put the info out, just wondering if there was something you'd like to add ;)
