The "coverage" from the huge win

SSN. Anyone watched the "coverage"?

It's about ten minutes after the hour, just after the Motherwell coverage. It lasts about 30 seconds and all that's discussed is that our THIRTY FIVE year wait for silverware might be over... but mainly that Balotelli was involved in a row at the final whistle.

I know I shouldn't be suprised and I also know that had it been united that won it would be the MAIN headline and it would last five minutes, showing the fans celebrating - the works...

But I got up early with a terrible hangover to watch this and its disgraceful to be honest.

All the backpage press is about the Balo wink and how everything is his fault. NOT the red carded scholes AGAIN or the 1 nil win or how good we were in the second half...So no not suprised really.

The more I think of it... how the fuck can an FA cup semi final derby win only make it ten minutes in on a fucking sports news channel?

Amazing.

Sky Sports channel didn't cover the game, ITV did. They can get quite precious about these things, sad fuckers.

Papers are a fucking disgrace though.

That's right - Martin Tyler was the commentator for the non-UK broadcast.

In the UK it was ITV covering it. How ITV are still allowed to cover football I will never know!

That's the reason - as far as Sky are concerned if they don't have exclusive rights to the event it might as well not exist.

If Nige had done that tackle it would have been WORLD WIDE NEWS and a 6 month minimum ban would have been bandied about.

They and the EPL are putting a marque game up against the FA Cup semi final so why should they give a shit?

Look at the amount of coverage they give to F1 on SSN. Compare it to how much coverage the BBC give it. But even saying that compare how much coverage the BBC give F1 now they cover it compared to when ITV had it.

It's fair game. You dont give free publicity to your rivals.

Maybe so .....
But it IS meant to be a 'Sports News' channel, not a 'Sports we are covering news' channel.

One of the advantages of being a bit further away.
Although I get english TV the shit I miss by not being local anymore makes me glad I'm not there to get wound up by things like that.
It's been like that as long as I can remember.
Just have to accept it as usual.
