You might spot a pattern emerging in these scores:
1904 Manchester City 3 The Wednesday 0 , Goodison Park
1924 Newcastle United 2 Manchester City 0, St Andrews
1926 Manchester City 3 Manchester United 0, Bramall Lane
1932 Arsenal 1 Manchester City 0, Villa Park
1933 Manchester City 3 Derby County 2, Leeds Road
1934 Manchester City 6 Aston Villa 1, Leeds Road
1955 Manchester City 1 Sunderland 0, Villa Park
1956 Manchester City 1 Tottenham Hotspur 0, Villa Park
1969 Manchester City 1 Everton 0, Villa Park
1981 Manchester City 1 Ipswich Town 0, Villa Park
2011 Manchester City 1 Manchester United 0, Wembley
11 games, 20 scored, 9 conceded. Useful record that.

In 1926, we beat the rags in the semis and then lost to Bolton in the final, I hate that pattern

Just to add to that info...and just to pander to the drama queens who can't get to sleep at night unless they've got something to worry about....and for all those who look at the minutiae of superstitions, omens and the like...You will enjoy this.
CITY FA CUP FINALS
1904...We wore those early black shirts with the maltese cross on when we beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
1926...The REMATCH...wearing our Cambridge Blue...we lost to Bolton Wanderers 0-1.
1933...Goals by (the Great Dixie) Dean, Stein and Dunne (not Richard) saw us capitulate to Everton in our usual Sky Blue shirts.
1934...THE RETURN...a year later, back at Wembley, we were winners against Pompey in our change strip of maroon.
1955...Newcastle saw our brave 10 man (Jimmy Meadows carried off) effort off and we lost 1-3, in our traditional sky Blue.
1956...Bert Trautmann was the hero of the game after carrying on playing for the last 17 minutes with a broken neck, shielded stoutly by our defence in maroon and white stripes
1969...Nelly in his red and black striped shirt, scored the only goal and winner against Leicester City.
1981...We were in sky Blue when our 1-0 lead was wiped out by Tommy's own goal against Spurs and we wore the same colours whilst losing the replay.
2011...With Stoke our confirmed opponents playing in red and white stripes, there'll be no need to change from the sky blue home shirt.
Do you notice a pattern developing here? ...
There you go...you can all setlle down comfortably in bed in the knowledge that you can stay awake all night, worrying about what will happen on May 14th...You don't have to thank me, this is a free service for friends and members of the site.
Did I hear a "Typical City" being shouted from the back???

If we lose to Stoke, you'll hear it from all quarters john, won't even have to turn up the hearing aid.

Are you sure about sky blue for Everton in 33 John? All the pictures I see look l.ike we had dark colour on, like the current away strip. Everton, oddly, are in lighter shirts.

The point being made is that we have NEVER won the FA Cup whilst wearing Sky Blue shirts.
Just thought I'd post it to help the worriers....:-)
