From start to finish.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

From start to finish.

Postby Surrey Sky Blue » Mon Apr 18, 2011 3:41 pm

From the pub at Waterloo, to the journey on the tube, to the pub outside Wembley, to the stands in Wembley, to loosing my seat and not finding my mate who I went with and standing with fellow Blues who I had never met for the entire match and talking like we had known each other for years, to the walk to the tube after the game, to the tube journey back to Waterloo making non footballing passengers going about their business laugh with our songs, to the pub back at Waterloo. We are the greatest fans.

I havent laughed so hard with total strangers like I did with fellows Blues on Saturday.

I am sure some of you may have been one of these people who i met on Saturday and I thank you.

PROUD TO BE A BLUE.

That is what football and Manchester City are all about.

Knowing you can be anywhere in the world, spot someone in our blue shirt, and be pretty certain you are going to get along brilliantly with him/her, probably sharing a similar sense of humour, and a reasonably similar outlook on life.

Meet a rag on the other hand, and 99 times out of 100 you just know their going to be a prick, or have some snide hidden agenda. Yes i do have rag friends.

I was walking down to my local on Sunday morning with my colours on. I have to cross a footbridge, and as I get to one end, a bloke with his Mrs and kid are already on the bridge.

Seeing me in my city shirt, all 3 of them spontaneously started doing the poznan

Never seen anything like it........and all the way down on my walk to the pub people who I had never met were stopping me to talk about the game. I thought about it later and thought this really just shows how much City mean to some people, and just how much our long suffering fans deserve a cup final win.

Met a heap of new blues on the weekend. Some new, some longstanding. It was great to see the older blues going out of their way to educate the newbies about the history of the club etc. Two sore loser rags were up for it at the end of the night but security put paid to them quick smart.

I spent two hours before the game on a roundabout at the bottom of Wembley Hill (cos the Green Man was rammed) with hundreds of blues!
Great atmosphere, highlight was a coach full of blues doing the Poznan as they went past!
The atmosphere continued into the ground and all through the match!

A credit to our beloved club, one and all.

Here's hoping for more of the same in just over three weeks!!

great bernarbia - that gathering on the green looked amazing , did the tesco express opposite not have an electric failure and shut ? the green man was great but we were all supping cans in the garden so you probably had just as good a vibe especially with cars & coaches going by - i keep remembering thinks that happened throughout the day and cannot help but smile !!
