Sorry if mentioned elsewhere. Anyone know anything about this kid? Good to see (if true) that we are actively seeking someone to do Silva's job

The agent of highly-rated Uruguayan playmaker Gaston Ramirez claims his club Bologna have rejected a bid from Manchester City.
Ramirez has been earning rave reviews for his performances in Serie A with Bologna this season and, at the age of 20, is regarded as an extremely exciting prospect for the future.
A number of Europe's top clubs have reportedly been keeping tabs on Ramirez, who has been likened to former Czech Republic international Pavel Nedved in terms of playing style.
And his representative, Vincenzo D'Ippolito, has now declared that Manchester City have firmed up their interest with an official offer.
"I don't know what amount but Bologna, for now, said no.
"These are the first signs, we'll see what happens.
"Bologna want at least €20million (£17.5m) for him."

I'll be sure to take a closer look at him when I happen to see Bologna play; so far, I don't know much of him. However, I'd like to ask you lot another question; I was under the impression that Kevin-Prince Boateng wasn't very well rated in England, am I right? And yet, he's been astoundng this season for Milan, one of their best players and they have missed him lots when he wasn't playing. This is to say, maybe we should take a moment longer to assess a player who looks the business in Serie A before bringing him to the Prem...

I thought he looked more than capable for Pompey. However, he had a fantastic world cup. So much so I'd have been pleased if we'd have got him.

I always thought KPB looked very decent, especially at Portsmouth in their relegation battle, ability wise he had no problems at all playing in the premiership.
I have to say though i always thought he looked a bit suspect a regards his character/personality - i think the guy has a few issues....

Completely agree - he was the shining light in that (admittedly poor) Portsmouth team. If he'd gotten a look in at Spurs I'm sure he would've done well. They had about 20000 midfielders on their books as them time though.
As for Ramirez, not seen him play. Like Hamsik or Pastore, I'd be really hesistant if we actually went for him though. Serie A players + City = rarely good.

Ok so maybe it was just me who wasn't really aware of Boateng when he played in England; as for the other point you make, I think we are relatively safe on Hamsik and Pastore; one won't move from Napoli, the other is going to end up at either AC Milan or Roma, as the new owners of the Roman club want to really make a statement in the transfer market, and Milan have been onto him for more than a season now. Ramirez...don't know about him as I already said.

To be fair, he looked good towards the end of last season and at the WC, but not so good that you'd think he'd become a mainstay for a table topping team.
Hopefully Jerome follows his half-brother's example.

If we go for any Serie A player, my vote goes to Alexis Sanchez and nobody else. Haven't heard of Ramirez, though. Hamsik and Pastore are good, definitely the latter and could become a good player in the EPL, not sure about Hamsik though. However, I believe Sanchez is physical enough to withstand the EPL. He did great with Chile in the WC and has been an impressive player thus far.

I actually don't rate Hamsik. When the goings good he's class but doesn't cut it when the pressure is on. From what Ive seen.

Why not Cavani? Alexis Sanchez is good, but is he a premiership player?
If we want a midfielder that can creat, i think his name is Yoann Gourcuff.

Alexis Sanchez would tear up this league, you are nuts if you think he wouldn't!
Rapid, dribbles like messi, strong, great technique.
Absolute must for us this summer Imo.

Boating has great skill. I'd love to see him in our squad.

I'm not a fan of Cavani. I don't think he'll fit in well in the EPL. As Blue Blood said, Sanchez is a great player. He's quick, he's strong and he's a winger we need, simply look at some of his videos on Youtube, or even at his WC performance. Cavani did what on the WC? It was all about Forlan for Uruguay, oh and the overrated Suarez.

i've seen that little japanese dynamo for Borussia Dortmund Shinji Kagawa play about 3 times this season and he really looks supertasty. I'd have him in a second. i wasn't bowled over by Sanchez in the WC, but i felt that whole Chilean team kinda underperformed tbh based on what i read and how they performed in the South American group in qualifying. i dunno who the fucl Ramirez is...i like that we're allegedly going after young talent tho.
cheers

This lad is a sort of younger Prince Boateng. A fantastic one at the slow rythms of our serie A, a normal one for this Premier League. He seems to me more adaptable to squads like brummies, baggies or Notlob!

He scored a header two minutes from extra-time just yesterday night here in Torino! Everytime I talk with him and he watches my City shirt Rolly says: "Once a Blue always a Blue!" I adore him!

Cavani has grown a lot from the WC last year. I didn't liked him too, but he had 31 games this season for Napoli, and scored 25, and i think half of them were in the last minute or so.
If Herman goes, i think Cavani is a good name for us, because is unlikely we will se Zlatan anytime soon.
And with Kagawa, i heard Scum had a verbal aggrement with him. The lad is great, but he is injured since january.
What about Goetze? Dortmund's wonderkid.
