Personal touch from the club

I must say i've been critical in the past about the level of customer service at the club, but its been a while since i contacted them, so last week i emailed Garry Cook asking about season cards and my worries about pricing out normal fans, and especially fans who have to struggle a little to find the seasoncard prices.

To my total surprise i got a call from the club in the last hour, a very friendly voice on the other end, who had made the effort to find my telephone number from the little personal information i gave (name, stand i sit in). Although he wouldnt give away any secrets, he wanted to personally reply to my email, telling me seasoncard details would be sent out soon, not to worry about price rises "You'll be ok" his words, and that there was a lot going on to make the matchday experience more enjoyable, which going off the effort they have already made is good news, as they are continuing the good work.

I must say i'm very happy to have got this call, it makes me feel a little more part of the club than i felt an hour earlier, and i thank this person for that.

It's that sort of thing which can make an ordinary day seem much different.

Personal service - I vaguely remember when banks and shops used to give it.

It was possibly Danny Wilson. He seems to go above and beyond the call of duty in his role.

Sounds good mate, but when he said 'You'll be OK', did you sense a bit of a 'Dr Evil' going on in the background?

Agreed that Danny Wilson is a star. He sent me a £10 voucher once for kicking off about the service I was getting in the ground.

He is always open to new ideas about improving the 'experience' and even shared some interesting blockers the club face re the concourse etc.

If they keep the prices remotely frozen I'll be really impressed.

I'm in the east stand second tier and towards the end of last season I got a letter from the club telling me all about the prices I would be paying between then and something like 2013-2014. They were far from frozen.

Aye, me too. I'm expecting my seat to cost over hundred quid more this season.

I moved to Level 1 to avoid this, I'm pretty sure level twoers are gonna get stung very shortly.

We have already been told the prices we will be paying. Going up from about £515 to about £750 over three years IIRC.

"Personal touch" mate, "personal".
This is spreading onto lesser fan's sites and I hope it doesn't cause Danny any embarrassment, as there ain't been a club announcement yet.

i hope it doesnt embarrassment Danny either, but i didnt name him, i agreed it was a guy called Danny, and i felt for a big business like the club is, it was unnecessary but excellent customer service to call me personally. and i onloy said what he told me, i didnt predict what he was trying to say, just stated his words.

thanks
