Details Of Ken Barnes Memorial Game Announced

A host of former City stars will roll back the years to honour the late Ken Barnes in a charity match at Hyde FC next month.

Ken, who passed away last July, played nearly 300 times for the Blues and in an association with the club that lasted 46 years he also worked as assistant manager, coach and chief scout.

Several of the youngsters he helped recruit will turn out for the game at Hyde's Ewen Fields ground, which will take place on Saturday, 21 May at 3.00pm.

Admission will be £5 for adults and £3 for children, with all proceeds going to the Stroke Society Fund.

Team One will be coached by Shaun Goater and Paul Lake, while club ambassador Mike Summerbee will be in charge of Team Two.

The two squads are:

Team One: Uwe Rosler, Paul Dickov, Asa Hartford, Andy Morrison, Peter Barnes, Ian Brightwell, Ian Scott, Kevin Reeves, Andy Dibble, Eric Nixon, Gerry Taggert, Kenny Clements, Nigel Gleghorn.

Team Two: Dave Bennett, Mike Milligan, Nicky Summerbee, Colin Hendry, Fitzroy Simpson, Kevin Horlock, Jim Melrose, Les Chapman, Jeff Whitley, Andy May, Neil Pointon, Richard Edgehill, Mike Sheron.

Unless I've missed something, team one have no goalkeepers whilst team two have two?

LAST SEASON,still looks alright.


That's because he's using his Mancini asphyxiwank scarf to tuck his other chin away. The black jacket is slimming too, though the camera does put ten pounds back on.

All in all, a complex equation.

Yeah, I saw that but he never played for City so I assumed I had the wrong guy.
