Best bars in town to watch the match?

Postby gilford » Wed May 04, 2011 7:04 pm

After much deliberation I have finally managed to blag the missus to go to Manchester and watch the final!

It has cost me a 5 star hotel and some friends are coming also but it's worth it!

My main priority is to get to CoMS and watch it but timing will be tight due to work commitments and travelling times so where would be a good place to watch the game? Our hotel is just off Deansgate so somewhere close would be ideal!

Cheers

if a sunny day you could try the big screen on the lawn at spinningfields ,plenty of alfresco bars ie..krobar. or indoors walkabout (sports bar) on quay st. would be good choices in the deansgate area.

If your staying in town then your like a 7 minute taxi ride from coms. No point fucking about with shit bqrs full of hipsters/rags. Especially if they wrap up the title 20 minutes before kickoff.

This. I've always been pretty underwhelmed by football watching venues in Manchester. The Sports Bar was good before it shut down and the Lass has plenty of screens so you can always get a good view, but I have struggled anywhere else.

Burton Arms Hotel. Take weapons and wear your colours.

DO NOT GO TO THE COURTYARD OFF OXFORD ROAD.

Get your ass to Eastlands or if you want cheaper beer and no admission charges Mary D's.

I'll try my best to get to CoMS then.

Do I need to buy tickets in advance or do you just turn up and pay on the day?

Thanks again for the info.

I would amazed if it were televised on any of the public square big screens.
