Very good night, three girls there from the Ladies team ( including Darren Beckford's daughter) and Garry Cooke.

Was quite impressed with him really, didn't dodge any questions, although to be fair, none were controversial anyway.

Best bit was when he commented on the semi and Khaldoons reaction. He said that on one point they looked at all the City fans, and then both looked at each and Khaldoon just said "wow". He was saying that this club just gets a grip of you and wont let go. He siad that the sheikh was in for the long term and that moments like that only reinforced their commitment.

Talked about continuing to pump money into youth development and hoped to match the output of clubs like Barcelona in that regard.

Said they had only just started on their development of the area around the ground and that there is plenty more to come

Didn't feel that that the UEFA fair play rules would significantly afffect us more than other clubs and that it would not stop us investing in the best players. But again hoped that the youth system would curb our need to spend so much in the future.

I asked him if he had any spares for next week in the question session, but to no avail.

This must be the least controversial time for city in 34 years!

Sounds like a good night out

It was very interesting.

He also spoke about how he had changed his ways with the media and admitted he had made mistakes in dealing with them in the early days at City. Also admitted mistakes with the Junior stand at Eastlands. But it was key to the clubs that they got younger fans supporting the club. Said that the average age of City fans was a fair bit older than other clubs in the Prem, cant remember the exact figure but it I think he said that 60% of our fans were over 30.

Always like Cooke, like him a bit more now. It's rare for someone who has been as successful as he, to admit he is still learning.

True about the age thing I imagine, it's amazing that we still have 40% under 30!

Forgot to mention

Someone asked about thye Club crest on shirts and he said that this was not possible for the final, but said that the crest would be seen on the way on to the pitch, which we took to mean on the tops that the team will wear in the warm up and not the small crests on the shirt numbers. He wouldn't reveal any more details though.
