Great shout for Felipe Caicedo

Interesting blog about the best players in Spain who do not play for Real Madrid and Barcelona, one of which is our Ecuadorian.

I rate big Phil. If the West Ham loan deal had worked out I don't think the hammers would be in the s**t they're in now.

It's a shame he's going. He'd be an ideal number 4 striker for us.

He will never be really top class striker for a top side with that first touch. He is having Benjaniesque season and I've seen his goals on highlights. They just fall to him. While he may have physicality you look for his first touch is so bad that he would never be any use to us.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I know what you're saying mate, but even with us he did have a bit of a knack of knocking one or two in. Knows where that goal is, if he's quick enough to catch the ball!

i'm a fan of caicedo, and with possible going to inter, and (I HOPE) sneijder coming to us, I would like us to keep the strikers we have in balo and dzeko, and let caicedo and guidetti fight for time between them. Obviously I don't know what system mancini would use were tevez to leave, but I like the system he has used in tevez's absence so far and caidedo/guidetti backup to balo/dzeko seems fine in my book

I'm pretty sure Guidetti is leaving. His contract is up this summer, and he still hasn't signed a new one, although City has been trying to get him to.

Guidetti wants to play first team football, not be a fourth or fifth striker at a top club, and I understand him. He's at an age where it is important to get games against good opponents to keep developing. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Germany or Holland next season.

Let's just say I would have preferred if we had kept Caicedo and sent Jo away... and not only because Jo is absolute shit but I actually like Caicedo and scored some important goals for us.

I love how Guidetti has become the new Bojinov all of a sudden on here, i.e.

Hype = Definitely Ace

I've not seen anything in the snippets I have seen to suggest he's more Daniel Sturridge than Ched Evans.

Can't get much better than his first touch in that video - it went straight in the bag!

I watched him last night in the EDS and he seems to have it all, pace, a good first touch and he's pretty physically strong. Not saying he's going to be a world beater but I'd certainly prefer to have him on the bench rather than Jo.

That's a much more realistic appraisal. I still don't think (from what I've seen), that he's at the required level should we need to call upon him in an emergency. If he stays, he should go back out on loan to a good Championship club, a promoted team or an Old Firm side. Something competitive where we can keep a close eye on him and hike up his value a bit.

If he goes... whatever. Won't lose any sleep over it.

Sturridge is looking pretty decent now but he's only coming good with the game time he's getting. Being at City and Chelsea did stunt his growth. I think he needs to seek a permanent move to somewhere like Sunderland or Villa and start again.

I think Guidetti should have been more involved with the 1st team, it could have improved him; playing with better players. We could have used him many times as a sub. As it is, he looks like someone who has a lot of ability but not quite enough to be a top 6 striker. Not impossible he could improve enough to be one though, he has a lot going for him & a fantastic attitude. We have wasted a year of his life imo.

Got to second goal and already he was making mess of it. Of course he scored in the end, it's a bloody highlight video but there's not many centerbacks in Premierleague that wouldn't have dealt with that.

Edit. FOURTH GOAL! He can't trap the ball but another LEvante player deals with it!

It'd be a good idea to do a Danny Welbeck with him. How good did Welbeck look at Sunderland before his injury? Excellent in my opinion, and certainly a miles better prospect than the likes of Macheda and Bebe.

Why not give him a three-year deal snd send him there? They need reinforcements up front and are a competitive PL side with good facilities. I'd be more than happy to let him do that, or go to Newcastle for the same reasons. Everyone's a winner.

Bolton can fuck off after they borrowed-and-benched Weiss. That still rankles.

Guidetti "twittered" last night that he might not be leaving and is still thinking things over.

Caicedo is number one in europe for goals to chances converted, Hernandez is third. He knows where the onion sack is ill give him that but still havent forgotten the chances he missed against hamburg in the uefa cup quarters!

If he does decide to sign another deal after all, we owe it to him to make sure he's playing regular football at a decent level. If that means he goes on a season long loan then fine, so long as he definitely gets games. We could maybe have a recall clause if he's not used enough.
