Season after season you get attached to your favourite XI then come summer the teams immediately scrapped by players being sold and players been bought, for the benefit of the club of course.
The likes of Zab, AJ, Lescott, Michah, De Jong, Kompany and so on.....players you fear may not cut it in the CL.
Obviously this summer transfer window is going to be huge as I know Mancini will want to build an elite team capable of competing in one of the top competitions in the footballing world.
I just hate the unsettlement around the club when new players are signed and how long they take an the team take to gel as a winning side.
Anyway.....onwards and upwards!
Nige, Kompany and Micah not good enough for Champions League? hmmm

I'd be surprised if we lose many of the established players. We almost have to be able to put out 2 top 3 level teams next season, so I think the only players. barring pssibly Tevez, who will leave will be the ones who are already gone on loan plus Jo & possibly SWP & Shay, if he wants to go. The rest of them will be added to rather than replaced imo.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see many changes this season. The team is starting to gell pretty well and I don't think Mancini wants to disrupt that.

We'll trim off the fat and add some meat to the city pie.
Roque, Bellers, Bridge, Ade, ect, are all heading out.
Sanchez, Mata, Sneijer, Ibra, Cesc.. the list goes on to come in. All players on another level to what we already have.
Time to take the next step lads!

I think lescott is the only liability in your list and he isnt even a bad defender, he's pretty good but looks average and clumsy because he plays next to one of th ebest defenders in the world.
This year we will just get rid of the shit JO and replace it with stronger players enabling us to compete in the CL and take us the next step up the ladder in the prem.
Look at chelsea arse and the rags. They compete for the title every year while playing CL, FA cup and league cup and make it look easy. We struggled to play europa, the team we're noticably sagging after half an hour of football. We defo need improvement.

The important thing is that City spend a lot more wisely now we have broken into the top four. That means a realisation that overrated lumps such as Dzecko, Barry, Milner and Kolarov, and slightly better players such as YaYa who turn their talent on and off like a tap, will never take us to the next stage. We managed to get away with being only slightly better (and that has to come attached with an "arguably") than last season largely because of Roy Hodgson's mismanagement of Liverpool and Spurs imploding.
It's not just about signing the most skillful, most celebrated talents, either, it's about players who will come to Manchester and play when it gets cold and wet. Because we are not (yet) a brand, it will take a lot of skillful behind-the-scenes negotiating if we are to bring in those exceptional players we need. Like it not not, we aren't yet a United in the eyes of top class professional footballers, so the prospect of playing in England's damp North West needs some selling. We're here on the cusp of my best ever season as a City a fan, but the flaws in the team are still glaringly obvious. We're hearing this morning about City's future domination of Europe, of joining the elite, but the elite don't trot out regular dross as witnessed last night, and the best managers don't buy so many players clearly unsuitable to us getting there. This summer is pivotal. We must not mess it up.

Im not saying they are not good enough for CL, what I was trying to say was...I fear now that we are in the CL....players will be signed in those positions who are much better players than those I picked out so I fear the players we have now will be forgotten about.
There is a slight hint of insanity here mate, as every team in Europe would want Kompany and De Jong.
But I think Bobby has said he needs to strengthen. Getting rid of the 20-odd players on loan - and Jo - is the way to go. Other players will complement those we have. There was a time at the height of the Europa campaign when we looked decidedly knackered and injured. We need to bring in quality at those times.

Funnily enough i thought Milner did very well last night, and got us a goal which took us through. Barry will still be around, dont worry. He wont play every game but I think you'll find the slower CL will suit him down to the ground.
Yaya on the other hand looked completely shagged out and had an off day. Hope he has a rest for Saturday!

It looked to me like Yaya was saving himself early on, and came awake a bit towards the end of the game. I'd like to think he was being clever and focusing his effort on the last part of the match but he probably had his mind on the cup final.

Imo Yaya, all season, has got gradually worse when having to play more than one game in a week. His disply in Kiev was like Vieira's grandad. When he has a week to recover he usually comes back stronger. That doesn't bode well for the cup final but hopefully the fact that it IS a cup final & the fact that Stoke have some fairly low fitness midfield players on a big pitch etc may help.
