Just suppose that, in the summer, Tevez leaves, Adebayor returns and Bobby Manc decides to play two strikers up front, without bringing anyone else in to replace Carlos.

I know it depends upon how the rest of the team is set up but which two strikers, of the three, would complement each other the better :- in other words could Adebayor work with either SuperMario or Dzeko and would a combination of Dzeko and SuperMario ever work with each other ??

I wonder if a 4-1-3-2 formation might be a viable option, with regard to the players/strikers we have.

For no real reason, I've just got a funny feeling that the best combination might be SuperMario and Adebayor.....or have I been out in the springtime sunshine for too long ??

that would without doubt be one of the laziest strike pairings ever! both good players but both very hit and miss. too much of a risk. especially for bob. would never happen. plus if/when we lose tevez the owners imo will want a big big big name to replace him to soften the blow

i think yr right about the public image thing...we will want to bring someone in to not only fill a void, but to make a media splash and show our intent to be a world-class club. it's what any big club would do when a big name player wants out.

Half trust Ade,quarter trust the other two.

In the away UEFA game when Balo made his brief debut, Adebayor linked up with him better than anyone else has done since imo. It seemed to be the start of a natural partnership.

If we lose Tevez & have to rely on any of those 3 as our main focal point for the season though, I think we'll win fuck all & possibly miss top 4.

He will bring Ibra in and play a 4-3-3 with Balotelli, Ibra and Adebayor up front.... laziest strikeforce in the world!

Wonder if you said that about Kompany during his first six months too? Because he did about as well as Dzeko has done so far...

Mario and Dzeko need time, so imo there is nothing to discuss that bears any relevance yet with those two. If Tevez goes then we will buy someone to replace him. Ade has had more than a good chance and was also a prem player already with nothing to adjust to.. and wasn't/isn't the answer. He did play well with Balo though.. that much is true.

Do you get the feeling we are the mark in a long con with Dzeko? Like Ali Dia on a much larger scale.

I wonder what excuses could be made for that god awful, and I use the term loosely, shot on Tuesday. Poor technique, poor skill and how can the 'period of adjustment' be used as an excuse for it?

Something that might be worth pointing out regarding Dzeko is that he struggled in his first season in the Bundesliga too, but then he became a goalscoring machine there. I'm willing to wait and see.

You make it sound like he hasn't been most succesful manager this club has had in about 30 years.

This has been bit of a down year for Bayern as well.

IMHO Ade and Bellamy (and Robinho) were shipped out, not because their ability is in any doubt, but because Bobby has been around long enough to know people who aren't team players, and can be a pain in the arse.

Dzeko and Mad Mario will be here, and he's obviously put feelers out for Ibrahimovic - rated everywhere except City forums as one of the worlds great strikers. Wouldn't be too surprised if Tevez is still here too, if no-one has 50 M to burn.

Sadly that may also mean the end for Jo.

Zlatan is a good player, although not the demi-god most Swedes and Milanistas portrait him to be. He is definitely not a guy who can play 40-45 odd games a season and stay on top of his form. He needs to be matched carefully to retain his form, cause a Zlatan in top form is neigh unstoppable, while a Zlatan out of form is less than mediocre.

No doubt he is a good striker, but most people who know and follow the PL do not think he would do well here. They base this on the fact that he has yet to play well (and score I believe) vs an english team in the CL.

This was before he went and failed in Spain. After that I am more sure than before about his limitations to certain leagues. I think he is a monster in Italy and that slow-ass league. But I do not think he would be nearly as good as Tevez (stats wise) here and least of all for us. I think he is a 'fame' player who plays better for more famous clubs. If he came here I don't think he'd be arsed and would just be happy doing 75% and picking up a check.

Mancini might be able to get the best out of him though and he might fit perfectly into the system Mancini wants to play. I do however feel that Zlatan and Dzeko kind of fill the same role and cannot really see them both in the same lineup. And I know which one of those two I prefer, Dzeko by a mile. Firstly because of his attitude, secondly because I am 100% sure he will come good next season just like he did in Germany

Do we honestly need Zlatan-press right now? Him kicking people in the head etc.?
