I have a niggling thought that they will change the banner to read something about how much we've spent or some bollocks like that, I expect their classless antics to continue.

They'll have a rolling banner with 42 years (last league title) or their however-many European Cups to our none, or something.

What do we do about it? We stop giving a flying fuck what they think, what they do, how they act, what they say and concentrate on our wonderful football club and the excitement the next few years are going to bring to add to our 5 FA Cups (that feels good), 2 league titles, Cup Winners Cup and 2 League Cups.

We're a great club, and all us blues know it. That's all that matters in the end.

FA Cup won today, and all this talk about the bloody banner at The Swamp. talk is there will be a new one, something about 30 odd years since the league. The last one did cause a problem as it was an embarressment, but now we do have a team that can competer at the highest level.
I think we should play these cheap mindgames to work in our favour.
I think it's a great idea, so much so, I would ask the rags to make a second one to hang at Eastlands dressing room. It would be the biggest motivation ever, a bit like the Gary Cooke statement the rags used, so no team talks will be required, just drag the banner out before the game.
Thanks Rags

With all this banner bollocks. I seriously hope we don't put anything up ourselves. If there's one thing I love to gloat to rags about, it's how we don't gloat. IMO, that's an entirely better class of gloating.

The Rags can never be forgiven for that banner. It wasn't "good natured banter" as they might like to call it, it was the equivalent of a wealthy man waving a fist full of £50 notes in the face of a down and out. It was spiteful and nasty, and they loved every second it was up. Now we have forced them to remove it because it is no longer relevant, and if they replace it with something similar they will look even more like the absolute classless scum they are, and everyone on earth will see it.

They are changing it to 42 years since we won the league. Like someone just said I'd put something up in the changing rooms with a motivational manner to it showing the FA Cup ticked off and the rest showing how long since we won them. The players seem truly focused on becoming part of a glorious history at our great club

I don't care about the banner, I care even less that they won the title.

That's what I'm saying if we choose to use it ourselves as motivation then what they do becomes irrelevant.

spot on ant. couldn't give a flying fuck what they think, and i certainly don't judge my team in comparison to another club in a nearby town. i think that people who concentrate on how they are doing in relation to other clubs, rather than focussing on their own, would tend to support the rags in the first place...

Totally agree ... I think we look stupid having a banner that is showing negative time.

Can't agree more, it's been driving me nuts all day and I keep questioning my being sober (at last) since it seems like it has no logical pattern in its negative approach

Well I think we should have a banner showing how much debt they are in and increase it every week by a million....now that would be fun.

We could do a count-down until Rasher Chops croaks it, or is that not in good taste?

How's this for sad.

They are thinking of leaving it up as a reminder of how long we went without a trophy. Didn't they go 38 years without one?

I had a great day out yesterday at Wembley but it was marred a little by us parading that 00 Years banner on the pitch

Biggest moment in my City life and even when we have won a trophy we have to give the rags some satisfaction by acknowledging them

I didn't like it at all..

If anyone's on twitter, the sad bastard who owns the banner is @TuftyMUFC . Furthermore, he used to support Everton. Give him a shout, he will appreciate the input.
