Posted: Sun May 15, 2011 9:34 pmIt has been mentioned in many threads but I would just like to let the club and whoever else is interested know how much it means to me all the great coverage we have on our fan-freakin'-tastic website.
I live in Oslo, far away from Manchester (well, not further than many others, but far enough:) so I have no way of feeling connected to the day-to-day or behind the scenes stuff that goes on in the club, other than through the website. I think had I supported any other club I would not feel as connected to them as I do to Man City, simply because of the fantastic job that is done developing quality content for the website.
I read in a newspaper, can't remember which, some time ago that City were critisised for not giving interviews after a game. Journalists said how will fans ever feel connected to the club if they can't read interviews? Well dear journalists we have the most awesome coverage you could ever dream of! And we are given in-depth, behind the scenes material on a daily basis that can not even be compared to what other clubs can offer.
The tunnel video's, the many, MANY interviews after each match, the previews, the daily photographs from Carrington.. I feel like I am right there, like I am one of the guys. Like I am on the inside of the club and not "just a fan" living miles away who can rarely go to games.
For all you seasoncard holders I am sure the content is not that pivotal for your sense of belonging but for someone like me (and I am sure there are many others) this content makes me feel like a part of the Man City family. It makes me care and love the club even more than I thought possible. Like many others I smiled, laughed and cried when I saw the dressing room video from the FA cup final. Like someone else said aswell when I saw the team spirit and got to see the real personality of many of our players it just made me so happy! I love our team spirit! I love how even the subs and fringe players are treated as equals, the team seems like one big happy family and I am so, so honored and thankfull that I can take part in it through the great video's, pictures and text you produce for us.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the owner, Man City and it's staff for investing in the website and it's content for us the fans. I believe the board has it as a target to be as open as possible for the fans and delivering more content and content that fan's want and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you!
