That 'clueless taff' could play his part in guaranteeing us third spot.

Fulham have been on a cracking run since the turn of the year. His teams really do perform better in the second half of the season

If Spurs feck up against Brum and Liverpool win, then Spurs will probably get the place over Fulham, who have had 10 yellows in their last couple of games.

This is good news just in case we fuck up v Stoke or Bolton. Fulham will be keen to beat Arsenal.

Risky strategy.
they could lose as many points through rolling over as through kicking the shit out of Arse.

# Red and yellow cards: max 10 points
Deduction from a maximum of 10 points: yellow card = 1 point, red card = 3 points. Two times yellow equals red, but yellow + direct red = 4 points deduction. The total of this aspect may become negative.
# Positive play: minimum 1 point, maximum 10 points
Positive aspects: attacking tactics, acceleration of the game, efforts to gain time, and continued pursuit of goals. Negative aspects: deceleration of the game, time-wasting, tactics based on foul-play, play-acting, etc. In general terms positive play correlates with the numer of goal-scoring chances created and the number of goals scored.

Exactly!
If you are looking to win shit, you need to win games throughout the season.

fair play to him though for. .... err.... fair play.

Because he's learned it from Ferguson & it seems to work. Who was going to win the league comfortably in the 1st half of the season? Who actually won it?

Hughes has done a good job at Fulham and it was a difficult gig considering how well they done last year. For me, thats Hughes level but it would not surprise me if he found himself the Chelsea manager next season.

Ancelloti is a goner and there are not to many obvious replacement. Abromovic might fancy a manager who is a popular ex player who has shown that he is willing to take orders from above with us and could be a decent short term (arent they all at Chelsea) appointment.

i think he's got it nailed about ramping up to a crescendo in the final few months of the season. That's the business end, and if you can't get it done then you will NEVER win a trophy, a league or anything. Normal.

i don't believe he'd have that Fulham side do anything but go play the match. Did he say something to the contrary? Sorry if i missed that if so.

Also, licker.

cheers

Mourinho in his first season at Chelsea. Think they won 11 out of the first 12 games? Manu played catch up all season and never got close. Ended some 10 or 12 points behind.

That said you can't really knock the rhythm ferguson has established for winning the PL as it works more often than not.

actually i always felt like Hughes was sacked because he couldn't take orders from above, and couldn't abide by the Marwood/Cookie Monster that he felt usurped his authority, or potentially could.

Hughes would be better off taking a wedge of cash to go dig out West Ham imho. Not that those two cunts running them have any clue on how to get it sorted, but hiring Hughes and the tafia and convincing them to come to the Championship and rebuild their club would be a major coup i think.

cheers

Ha ha, because of Fulham's red card today it looks like they will lose out .... to Blackpool!!!

So that could be two Championship teams playing European football next season .... bit of a joke really but 'dems the rools'

Oh wow I forgot about this. Feel bad for the cottagers, tbh. They played well down the stretch.
