Charlie Adam

Charlie Adam

Postby PeterParker » Mon May 16, 2011 4:40 pm

I've watched a lot of Blackpool's games this season and likewise a lot of people noticed Charlie Adam, who had a great season.
I think he can be a great backup for David Silva, i don't think he will cost that much and can he help us next season.

My own personal opinion is that he's had a "Stephen Ireland" season, never to be repeated. We can and will do much better than him in the transfer market

Def.

I mean Milner is twice the player Charlie Adam will ever be and he can't get a game for us and it's debatable whether he is good enough for where we are aiming.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

100% no from me.I think he has had almost as many bad moments as good but they just don't get highlighted.

Milner has the potential to be a good player for us in the future. He played very well against Spurs in Central midfield and long term should replace Barry. He also offers far more going forward than Barry and some of his interplay with Johnson and Silva was superb.

What i fail to understand is why we think we can second guess the scouts and managers. We got johnson for snip, these guys know what they are doing. I'm sure charlie may have been on the radar and more importantly the money is there if needed.

I would be very surprised if charlie signed for city.

a midfield version of Given i.e. looks brilliant on the highlights on motd, but watch him for a full game and you'll notice all the mistakes. The best players are often the ones who don't flatter. Van de sar barely made a save when he had that record clean sheet run. Haaman for us and Vieira now often appear to not move, yet mysteriously are often in the right place to score or break something up.

Do I even have to start listing all the disasters we've signed over the years?

Not even as a backup player? I don't see him in our first eleven as well, but maybe in league cup games, or when we play qpr and norwich we can rest Silva and play him. If City will buy a playmaker who will play alongside Silva, a player like Adams will be great as a backup for them, because right now i don't see Assulin and the long waited, Michael J, stepping up to the first team. If he available for max 6-7 i don't see why not, but not more.

Decent dead ball specialist, good left peg and range of passing though all on his left peg. However, very one paced, gives the ball away too often to be a top level player and would expect to play which he wouldnt be doing at City.

Has likely had his Steven Ireland season as someone else pointed out, and will be very overpriced. We need better players than this, and probably at better value too. I wish Mr Adam luck and am sure he will end up at Villa, Spurs or Liverpool who were all sniffing around him in January.

No but a good un along with Parker he has had a great season in very poor teams, maybe a little more credit is due to a player maximising his abilities unlike many prem players who take the dough and give a big fat 0 move on and could not give a toss.

I agree with the majority of posts. One good season but I can't see him shining in a "great side". We need to aim higher than that even for cover. Be interesting to know whether nailing 3rd place will have any different bearing on attracting players in the close season as opposed to 4th and the need to qualify. Would a top name sign up for a qualification match? I'm confident we could beat one of the other qualifiers but going straight into the group stages will surely have more greasy agents phoning up Cook.
