To MCFC, Gary Cook, whomever, re. showing the Cup tonight

I've heard that the FA Cup won't be paraded in front of the crowd at tonight's match, "out of respect to Stoke and their fans." Well, OK, it wouldn't be right to gloat over them after City's victory at Wembley, but what about CITY"s supporters, gentlemen? So just announce that the Cuo will be paraded after the game and any Stoke fans who want to leave can do so. Besides, judging from the reaction of most Stoke fans at Wembley on Saturday they could see that the best team won and wouldn't begrudge City the pleasure and pride of taking the Cup around the stadium. The last home match of the season has always been a chance for the players to receive the applause of the fans and it would be ridiculous for them to do so on Tuesday night with the FA Cup tucked away in a cupboard like we're ashamed of it. City WON THE CUP, for heaven's sake, so show it off tonight not just at the parade next week! Please reconsider this, MCFC.

That's what I suggested when it first came up (when we weren't allowed to discuss it) but imo, now we have the 3rd place battle, lets just do the celebrating when the season's over. Lets get the job done & then milk it. That way, even if we fuck up 3rd, we finish on a party & if we get 3rd we celebrate even more.

Why show it off tonight when we have a parade to come next Monday, if we were to show it off tonight people wouldn't bother with the parade.

I think its spot on they are not showing it. How would you feel if it was the other way round? I could see the city fans going mental! literally

I think it's all about our planning for the last two games. We now need to win them, without any distractions before or after. Just shelve the cup until the day after the last game in the parade, which may now also celebrate 3rd place. The next day the players all piss off on their jollies.
I think the Stoke 'respect' thing is just bollox.

Spot on.
We are still at the business end of the season ... plenty of time to continue celebrating after the league stuff has finished.

Whilst i empathise with your dilema, this year (and next year) is fairly unique, in that in a normal year (A) we wouldn't have one the cup BEFORE our last home game and wouldnt be able to parade on last game anyway (B) If you were fortunate enough to have been at Wembley (and saw the cup being paraded) count yourself lucky as you'd have been on holiday when final normally would have been?
just saying

Last *home* game of the season has always ended with a "lap of appreciation" (or whatever they call it) even during the many shit years, and even if there was another away match to follow. I would hope the same thing would happen again tonight. The respect thing is bollocks - Stoke fans will have buggered off coz the lap of the pitch isnt just a City thing, they'll do it at the weekend, Chelsea did it the other day, its tradition.

I hope this will happen too, especially after last year when we had just lost out on the Champions League and all the players could muster was a half hearted clap from the centre circle (understandably so)

to be fair, city SHOULD parade the cup tonight, how many at the ground tonight wont be there on monday, its our last game, lets see the cup. if stoke want to go let them, we could wait 5 mins after the game so any stoke fans can stay or go.

I remember back in October, afetr Boyata's sending off. some of the unbelievable stuff from Arsenal fans on thr radio about "how far above City" they were and how City "weren't going to finish anywhere near them" - well well. What a chance we have here to shiove all that right up their arseholes - would be fun wouldnt it. Over to you City.

We should tell the players they get to parade the cup on their lap of honour after the game, but only if they win the game.
