sure it would be better but it's not necessary; now it's down to us, we win with Bolton and Arsenal can win 10-0 against Fulahm, they would still end fourth.

I cannot see beyond a win at Bolton to be honest. The Team is absolutely buzzing with confidence right now. Bolton have nothing to play for really, I think we will hammer them.

A draw would be enough for Fulham to secure 8th place but they will also be trying to protect their "Fair Play" place in the Waffer League. Three teams can pass them in the league if they lose. Arsenal seem to have pressed the self destruct button. It would have been funny if Spuds could have caught them on the last day as well but we jsut have to do our stuff. Very good last night, can only see the same sort of result at Bolton and Tevez to secure the Golden Boot for yet another trophy!

With key players like Hart and Tevez looking to cement records and awards and the team defending their newly acquired Winners tag, City will be well up for this in terms of attitude. Holding 3rd and all that represents is the prize and it just couldn't be better to have at this stage of the season. Bolton by contrast have little to drive them to excel, however as we know we cannot go out expecting them to roll over, for once though i really don't think City will be underestimating the opposition, while at the same time they can be free of nerves and just play as they know they can. Be clinical with the chances that come and Bolton will be booking their beach holidays by HT.
Fulham v Arse you just can't call, Wenger will have them trying to chase that 3rd spot back, you could see them getting caught out by Fulham while trying too hard when not in good form, but could also see them 3-0 up at HT. The great thing is it doesn't matter if we just stay cool and play Bolton off the park.

They will be sure to take it wasy to avoid cards for the fair play.
Also Hughes will not want his replacement to achieve 3rd AND a cup in his first FULL season in charge, it will highlight what a poor job Hughes was doing.

<ahem> IMO Leslie was doing no poorer a job than Mancini .... the board disagreed and got rid so we will never know now. Last season we might have got 4th and won the CC Cup if Leslie had stayed ....

Hughes like Hodgson or Allerdyce or countless others is not a big club manager. The kindest thing City did was put Hughes out of his misery. Admittedly they shouldn't have done it on live TV like some bizarre scene from 'The Apprentice' but it was the humane thing to do.
But I hope he turns Arsenal over on Sunday and has a decent career managing low to mid ranking PL teams. Hell he may even get to a final one day and win something. Bless him.

That's the devilworshipping, rag cunt name for him and should never be used by Blues.

The incentive will be there for him to equal Fulham's highest ever league finish along with European football.
It would make for an excellent first season for him. We'll never know what would have happened had he been left alone last season. We could have got fourth and the carling cup and been further on with this project, but fuck it, that's in the past and all parties seem to be proving their respective points as it stands.
Its up to us (and the couple of RAG CUNTS on our coaching staff!), thats the main thing.

Maybe even better than that, to be honest. It would be interesting to see how his points per game ratio is in the second half of a season on average, compared to the first, and map that onto our points trajectory for last season... I seem to remember Fulham being around 18th place just before christmas.
