You look at what's happened at other clubs, West Ham being a good current example, and then thank God that we got taken over by the Sheikh, who at every level has got things spot on for our club. Khaldoon is just a top notch bloke who understands what we as fans want and how to get it, both quickly and in the right way

We are truly blessed to now be in the position we are

Talks sense as always. The clubs in good hands and has a clear structure, direction and a whole load of dosh behind it.

Onwards and upwards.

A guy in work who's taken more of an interest in football since seeing me play City's match highlights every Monday morning asked me why the Sheikh picked City in the first place. I couldn't tell him, so why did he choose to transform MCFC and not a Newcastle or Sheffield Wednesday or Aston Villa? Has this ever been made clear?

HE IS BRILLIANT!

Just a class act, although it's obvious he considers David Silva to be our player of the year. He listed a bunch but what was the first name on his lips.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that our best players, Hart, Kompany, de Jong, Toure, Silva(I know he is listed as wide left, but when does he stay there really?), Tevez all make up the spine of the team?

It hasn't but I think there are couple of things that separate us from those other teams.

1) Manchester is a football hotbed. Did you know that comparing to population more people attend games in Manchester than any other MAJOR City in Europe. Also, Manchester as a City is better known and more easily accessible than say Newcastle or Sheffield.

2) Our ground. We had fine lease deal on our ground and I believe they made their ground work about possible purchase of the ground and surrounding land.

3) Core fanbase. We have very strong core support. This is not so much important on how big gates we get like most people think. This is very important on marketing. People who feel extremely committed to Club have tendency to feel committed to brands advertised in the ground as well.

4) City is widely considered "proper football club". Again, this is very important for marketing people as when supporters of other clubs look at brands being marketed via us they get positive feeling about them.

5) market value. We were on sale and cheapish. Despite all the hundreds of millions they've put in the club they are still nowhere near money it would've taken to buy rags or Arsenal and we are already getting our fair share of exposure. It's cheaper to build that exposure than to buy it.

6) where we were as a Club. We were already solid Premier League club unlike Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday. Villa were not on sale.

In fact, if you look at what we had to offer for the price Sheik got us, we are one of the very few club's that would've made any sense. MAYBE somone like West Ham or Tottenham. Other than that I can't think of anyone who would've suited them better than us.

To add to that, half the marketing has already been done for us. Like it or not, a certain other club has pushed the 'Manchester' brand name all around the world. Contrary to their beliefs, there's nothing special about them that makes people follow them; it's success & publicity/ marketing. They've already got the world familier with the name of Manchester; the future bunch of kids & glory hunters just see a blue one that's better & jump on that bandwaggon instead.

Quality interview.

Khaldoon really does give the impression that he's a bloke who knows what's needed & has it all under control.

Agreed. I was amazed though that he virtually never mentioned Mancini! A passing mention of Roberto at 7 or 8 minutes in and maybe the word manager a few times. I found that weird.

At least he did mention him in context of having the final say on signings so we can rule out any nasty, surprise managerial shenanigans!
