For some reason the coach from CoMS picks us up at 11:30 for the long trip to Horwich. Is there anywhere decent to get a beer round there?

There is Scotts bar and another pub facing the Reebok. If you walk up the top of the duel carriegway ( walk towards the big Tesco) and get to the roundabout in Horwich which is prob a 10 min walk there is a pub there, not sure of it's name but it's next to the Travel Lodge.

Scott's won't let you in without a home match ticket! Its pretty dire in there anyway, packed and awful service with worse beer.

The beehive is pretty good or you can go the bromilow arms! When you get to the beehive, turn right and its about a 5 min walk.

alternatively:

http://www.footballgroundguide.com/bolt ... s/pubs.htm

Steve Openshaw recommends the Bromilow Arms; "from the M61, go past the stadium on your left, move into the right hand filter lane and turn right at the traffic lights into Lostock Lane, and about half a mile down on the left is the Bromilow Arms. Good ale, friendly atmosphere, free car parking. Ten minutes walk away from ground". I have personally visited this pub on a number of occasions now. Each time I have been impressed with the warm welcome and the good mix of home and away fans. The small pub has a country feel, serves good real ale from the local Bank Top Brewery and food from a lunchtime snack menu. All in all it was a gem! Plus if you ask nicely they will also allow you to leave your car in their car park, while you go off to watch the match.

There is also the Beehive Pub near to the ground where you can also park your car (see below). Otherwise alcohol is served within the ground, although for some games such as local derbies, the Club opt not to sell any. Or on my last visit alcohol was available to away supporters before the game but not at half time, much to the annoyance of the travelling fans.

There are a number of bars on the nearby Middlebrook Retail Park (Reebok Stadium is on the Middlebrook Retail estate). However most of these have bouncers on the doors that only admit home fans on production of a matchday or season ticket, There are though plenty of eating outlets on the Retail Park; KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut and a Bolton Wanderers themed McDonalds as well as several other themed restaurants. Whilst inside the stadium there is the usual array of pies, rollover hot dogs & burgers on sale.

WRONG!!! Ignore this bit from the previous post.

There are NO pubs if you turn right at the Beehive roundabout.

Beehive is OK - serve grub too.

The Bromilow Arms is a bit crap - it's a right turn at Tesco traffic lights then 400 yds on left - Barnstormers is up the same road (Lostock Lane) but I am not sure they let away fans in there.

Best Bet IMO .........On the other side of the M61 there's the Brinsop Arms, a good pub with good grub. Turn off at J6, take first left, go 200 yds then take right at the r/about - 400 yards up there on right - get parked up too if you're there early enough. Only 15 mins walk from the ground and an easy exit for getting home.

I was there in the Fall, there are 2-3 pubs in walking distance west of the Stadium. And I had no trouble getting into Scot's as I didn't even have a match ticket for that day at the time.
