I waited in anticipation for some footage of the 'event" yesterday and was chuffed as hell when they turned over to Mike who was live at Albert Square. He had the biggest grin on this face and you could genuinely see that he was loving his job yesterday. In the back of his mind he was probably thinking about all the "anti City brigade" in the media. I for am happy that he got to show off last night.....

I am in South Africa and it was on our 6pm bulletin so would have been 5pm UK time. We only get it for an hour at a time, 6am-7am, 12-1pm and then 6-7pm.

Mike is a top blue and I don't doubt that for a minute, but there was a bit of coverage I saw where he was at COMS and clearly running out of ideas what to say - he must have said "35 Years" over 50 times in 5 minutes, and how we were having 'blue carpet not a red one" etc. etc. I was thinking, FFS give it a rest!

I watched what I could, in between their normal news programme and Scumfest, tennis etc, now and again.

Can't help thinking if roles were reversed and Scum had been exactly in the same position, it would've been wall to wall coverage.

Still, nice of them to let Wedders do it and not Bryan Scumson.

We had to put up with Sir Alice chatting shite in his speech on Soccer Sunday straight after the matches finished. He also tried his hand at a bit of comedy with the line "Gary Neville has been a great player for over 20 years".

Had no idea he was a City fan till I read this! Quality!

From an interview with The Guardian:
Interviewer: Now, in the least derogatory way possible, why do you support Manchester City?
Mike W: Well because we're the best team in the land, and so say all of us.
