No way Dameerto, one more season and we can pip them for the title and he goes naturally through shock with his outburst of "they'll never win anything in my life time" ringing in his ears.

Great player & apparently a nice, down to earth chap off the pitch but unfortunately a vicious, slapped arsed, rag twat, on it.

His nasty, sulking, stamp, on Zabbas knee as he realised he was up against a better team on the day, being absolutely typical.

He can jolly well fuck off.

The thing that always pissed me off about the Ginger Prince (ha ha apart from that stupid bestowed nickname) was the way ref, managers and media pundits used to defend his often late leg breaking 'tackles' because 'it's Paul Scholes and everyone knows he can't tackle' ... oh thats ok then. Also any player that turns theur back on their national team is a cunt imo. The national team decides when you don't play for them anymore.

agree with chinners - chuckling away because "he can't tackle" does my head in - glad the last I saw of him was a well deserved red card

I can never think of any player as great unless they do it as an international as well as a club player. So far the one question mark against Messi IMHO.

Perhaps we should put a cheeky bid in for him before he becomes known more globally ;-)

For supposed die hard Latics fan quite surprising that he didn't want to finish his career there.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

maybe he's a grow-er, not a show-er?

I'd like to thank him for helping us on our way to hoisting the FA Cup this year. Without him, you never know what might have transpired. Justice.

cheers

I thought you would have learnt to stop coming out with stupid comments after the "what does yaya toure actually do?" thread.

One of the greatest players to ever play for the rags, england and in the premier league. He was a spanish player with an english mentality.

It speaks volumes that the likes of Zidane, Xavi, Iniesta, Seedorf, Kaka ect all hail him as one of the best. Zidane said ""Scholes is undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation." Henry said "I can't understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it's because he doesn't seek the limelight like some of the other 'stars'."

When the final whistle went on Saturday FIVE Barca players rushed to Scholes to get his shirt, Iniesta won.

The fact that he has retired from the game has made me very happy, it weakens them lot so much, this is great news. They need to seriously invest in the summer as they won't defend their title with a midfield of Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson and Gibson :D
