It was easy to be critical of Vieira at times this past year and a half, but he was actually an important player in our first trophy winning run in decades. Could we have won it without him? You'd have to say "probably" but the fact is we won it with him.
Way more good than harm, give him another year as a player or player/coach then make him a coach here.
What do you think?
cheers

He played his part in our season and I'm very thankful to him. I'd like to see him stay on but not as a player (beacause I'm worried that at some point Bob will expect him to last a full match again rather than using him sparingly)

His sly little headers from set pieces, when he nicked in at the near post, had a baring on our FA Cup run. On the downside, I think he got us knocked out of it the season before by being too old/slow & has also contributed to us losing several games, most recently v Everton.
Great squad player & would love to see him on the staff. That would be a major coup, imo. If he's going to continue as a player, Bob really must learn to take him off when the game starts to bypass him. It cost us dear on several occasions.

I reckon all the players respect Vieira for what he has achieved.
Look at Ballatelli, you can see he respects him.

by lets all have a disco
Give him another deal if so many people like him,i wouldnt though as his legs have gone and Mancini's unwavering support of him cost us points this year! Everton springs to mind.
Id love him to stay on as a coach though because his experience is vital.

Gained a point for us that allowed us to finish joint second at home v Blackburn.

Would love to get another year out of him, he is just a class player who never seems fazed by pressure.
I think most people underestimate his influence and when he came on against Tottenham it gave us the calming presence in midfield that gave us a grip on the game.(Yes yes, another player there would have done the same blah blah, another player DIDN'T do it though, HE did.)

You beat me to it Slim, once he came on the pitch versus Spurs, he was noted talking and signalling to players to keep calm and not panic.
I wouldn't expect him to play any major role in the team next season but his influence and experience, in and around the squad have got to be major factor in our success. Keep him and use that influence, we have some massive challenges to face next year and his qualities could prove invaluable.

I think Paddy is just as important to us off the pitch as he is on it.
With so many big stars in the squad there must be some serious egos knocking about the changing room and training ground. However, Vieira has been there and done that so much more than anybody else at the squad and the others seem to look up to him.
Even Balotelli must stop and take note when somebody who has won so much in the game is talking!
I hope he stays another year, even if he doesn't get to play very often.

Yep, yep, yep agree with all of the above. Plus my missus really likes him as well, I don't think she's heard about his shower cudgel?
